Battle of the Eagles.
(4-1) Apollo takes the 2 1/2 hour trip to (1-4) Graves County for a 5A District 1 clash.
Last year Apollo knocked off Graves County 38-35 for the first time since 2007. The home Eagles used a special teams TD and a pick 6 to overcome the road Eagles air attack which produced over 300 yards.
Graves County comes in missing a few feathers after a tough schedule and having several players out with injury. Already down one WR for the year, those others in question will need to return this week if they are to effectively move the ball like last year. Apollo took its first loss last week at the hands of Owensboro Catholic, but showed resilience in coming back twice from two scores down. They will need to continue their offensive balance and limit the passing to prevent falling behind on the road.
Both teams will be confident they can get the "W" and the scoring margin could be 6 or less either way. This game could be the difference in a home playoff spot. Expect a good one.
