The Blue Devils make their first ever trip to Johnsonville. Both teams are coming off a loss and are in search of a big time Win.
All-time series, JC leads 1-0.
2017: JC 40-28
Capital, WV., Henry Clay, South Charleston, WV., Moore Traditional & Belfry...... these five non-district games are collectively the five toughest regular season games JC has ever played in a single season. Throw in Ashland & a Greenup County team that is on the rise and you have seven games that will let us know if we can bring back another golden football.

The Blue Devils are better than they showed against CC. They have a ton of speed at the skill positions but JC will control the Los on both sides.

Not sure why but HC is down this year. JC should name the score in this one.

Johnson Central has had 103 total home games (regular season & playoffs) from the 2004 season through the Capital, WV. game (8/24/18).
84 wins
19 losses
That is a .815 win percentage.
I would argue that our home winning percentage & total home games won during this time span is Top 5 in the state in all classes, if not better than that.
To put this in perspective from where our program was.... in the '01(1-4), '02 (0-4) & '03 (1-3) football seasons our overall record was 5-25. Our home W/L records are in parentheses... so that gave us a 2-11 W/L record in only three seasons.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Fredrick Douglass pull students from Bryan Station & Henry Clay?

I am afraid the Matney's boys will be in full rabid mode and destroy HC.

You used the word "pull" so incorrectly lol, but yes they do from BS and HC, but then again they also have NUMEROUS players on their roster from Lafayette, Dunbar. How did they "Pull" those kids away from their school, HAHA great question. Perhaps KHSAA should look into it:Shaking:

My reply to the bolded sections of your post..... I used the word Pull on purpose. Sarcasm doesn't translate well only using text.

During the Huntington High scrimmage, some of our players got in to a typical football skirmish after a play...... JC looked like a totally different team after that.
The Capital game is only the second home loss this senior class has had.
9th - 2015: 6-0
10th - 2016: 9-1
11th - 2017: 5-0
Those don't matter though, I know this class wants to finish their home record this season 10-0 from this game forward.

Great second game for JC to bounce back with. One thing Iâd like to see in this one is for Devin Johnson to get a few touches on offense. I know now that Joe is back youâd rather Devin focus more on defense and not get banged up as much but the kid was a beast carrying the ball last year.
