A source close to the St. Xavier squad explained to me Senior QB Keegan Sullivan is out for the next "10-12 weeks". He has an injury to his non-throwing hand,
I hate to hear this for a few good reasons. This QB injured his knee the last week of practice his Freshman year and missed the season. I want St. Xavier to be at full strength whenever they take on Trinity. He is a very talented passer and an excellent leader. I hope he heals more quickly than prediction indicates.

non-throwing hand in a shotgun offense. I'd bet we see him back earlier than 10 weeks.

According to Rivals.com, St. Xavier Head Coach Wallace stated Sullivan is out a minimum of four weeks. This would equate to missing three games: opener at DeSales, and home games with Bowling Green and Fairdale. Central could be his first game back if this updated diagnosis is accurate. I hope this works out for the young man.

From Jason Frakes interview with St Xavier's Coach Wallace online at Courier-Journal.com:
"The weirdest part is that we don’t know,” Wallace said when asked how the injury occurred. “He thinks he might have hit it on somebody’s helmet after he threw a ball.”
Wallace said the original prognosis was that surgery would be required and Sullivan would miss the entire season. But he said doctors and Sullivan’s parents are considering another plan that could have Sullivan back for the Tigers’ home opener Aug. 31 against Bowling Green.
St. X has its open date Aug. 24.
“I think they’re going to see how the healing process is going,” Wallace said. “From a coaching standpoint, the most important games of our regular season are our district games (starting Sept. 21 against Pleasure Ridge Park). My hope is he can be healthy enough to be back to himself by that time.”

I hope the kid kills it when he comes back.
