ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (AP) - A high school math teacher has defeated the House majority floor leader of the Kentucky House of Representatives in an election that comes following a wave of education protests at state Capitols.
Travis Brenda narrowly defeated state Rep. Jonathan Shell on Tuesday to win the Republican nomination for House District 71. Two years ago, Shell was credited with helping orchestrate the first GOP takeover of the state House of Representatives in nearly 100 years. But voters turned on him for his role in writing a new state law that made changes to the state's pension system.
Brenda credited a groundswell of teacher support for his victory and says it sends a message to other candidates that teachers and public workers will not be silent. Brenda will face Democrat Mary Renfro in the general election.
At least 15 other current and former teachers were also on the ballot Tuesday.

Career politicians have been 'Put on Notice'......
I think we will see several, not all, but several of the long-tenured politicians get beat out in November.

^^. BENNAMIN FRANKLIN—— “When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”
There would seem to be an unbeatable strategy for those seeking elected office these days, just be the guy who promises to give money and you’re in there. And according to mister Franklin’s prediction, the end is soon coming.

Great! Just what we need. Why not elect another teacher/political activist that wants to protect the lying liberal politicians and ignorant kea lobbyists that have bankrupted our state. Hell yeah, why not promise some cost of living increases and reduced retirement age? Iâm sure we can afford it 🤦*♂️. Teachers have been asked to forgo using sick days towards retirement and they cry and disrupt the educational system. These people do not understand the real world. Good luck with that.
