Tuesday night, Merril Triplett resigned as we had reported to you earlier.
However, former coach Bob Lutz, who is legendary in local high school football, did not apply for the job.
School board president Kathy Kratzenberg says there have been some discussions about bringing Lutz back again after his one year absence.
She also says the board could call a special session to hire a new Ironton High football coach.

It was reported last week in the Ashland paper that Lutz is interested in coming back at Ironton. That is why Triplett left.

That could prove to be a problem for Ironton. Why would Triplett leave without confirmation that Lutz was actually coming back?
