Did Tubby even try to Win in the postseason?
#1
Minnesota athletic director Joel Maturi found out six weeks ago that Tubby Smith was willing to leave Kentucky and come to Minnesota, Maturi told ESPN.com late Thursday night, the eve of the Golden Gophers' news conference to introduce their new men's basketball coach

Of course he tried to win. This isn't the pee wee circuit here.

Tubby Smith is a business man first and foremost and would do his job regardless of the situation.

No coach, especially someone as well respected and professional as Tubby Smith would not try to win in the post season.

Unbelievable that anybody would even put that into question.

If Tubby expressed interest six weeks ago, that
puts him in contact with Minnesota at end of
January/first of February. It is hard for me
to believe that OTS, even being a good businessman,
did not have a somewhat divided focus. It is
hard to put your heart completely in one thing
when it is already going out to another.

well, they were beaten in the SEC tournament by a tough Mississippi State team, which was a fluke and a horribly called game in a win by the Bulldogs..and gave it hell in the NCAA tourney, beating a very good Villanova team, and giving Kansas everything they had for 30+ minutes before running out of gas..9 out of 10 teams would have faced similar fates those last three games they played. I thought they gave a solid showing in the post season..
