Iowa State 88 (17) Oklahoma 80
#1
AMES, Iowa – Donovan Jackson and Lindell Wigginton buried a pair of huge 3-pointers in the final two minutes to allow Iowa State (13-11, 4-8 Big 12) to escape with an 88-80 victory against No. 17 Oklahoma (16-8, 6-6 Big 12) Saturday afternoon in Hilton Coliseum.

The Cyclones led by as many as 17 points in the game. The Sooners managed to tie the contest multiple times, including at 77-77 with under two minutes left. However, Jackson hit a huge trey from the corner followed by a Wigginton bomb moments later to put the game out of reach.

Wigginton ended the game with 26 points, his ninth 20-point outing of the season to break the ISU freshman mark.

Cameron Lard posted his seventh double-double of the season with 19 points and a career-high 17 rebounds and Jackson scored 19 points behind a 3-of-6 effort from beyond the arc.

All five starters scored in double figures for the Cyclones, accounting for 85 of the team's 88 points.

The Cyclones did a fabulous job on OU's Trae Young, the nation's leading-scorer who came into the game averaging a shade under 30 points per game. Young had 22 points on 7-of-21 shooting from the field.

ISU has defeated OU seven-straight times in Hilton Coliseum.

How It Happened
Iowa State built a 17-point lead and went into the break with a 10-point advantage (45-35). Wigginton scored 14 of his 15 first-half points in the final 10 minutes of the opening period.

OU scored the final six points of the first half to trim the deficit to 10 points heading into the locker room.

The Sooners kept chipping away, cutting the Cyclone lead to five points (65-60) midway through the second half. Lard kept the Cyclones ahead by scoring nine points in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Jackson and Lard both hit a pair of free-throws to end a Cyclone scoring drought, as the Cyclones led 69-62 with under six minutes remaining. However, back-to-back conventional three-point plays by the Sooners trimmed the ISU lead to just one point (69-68) with 5:12 left in the game.

ISU went almost eight minutes without scoring a field goal until Zoran Talley hit a floater in the lane to give the Cyclones a 73-71 lead with 4:32 left in the game.

The game was tied at 77-77 until Jackson and Wigginton provided the Cyclones with a six-point cushion with back-to-back treys.

Players of Note
Lindell Wigginton posted the 18th double-digit scoring game and the ninth 20-point game of the season with 26 points. His 3-pointer in the final minutes was the dagger in the contest. He now holds ISU's rookie record for most 20-point outings with nine.

Cameron Lard posted the seventh double-double of the season, scoring 19 points and grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds. Lard's seven double-doubles is third on ISU's freshman list. He also blocked two shots and had three steals, tying his career high in thefts. He is ISU's all-time freshman leader in blocked shots with 48.
