BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Anna Martin scored 25 points to spark Lexington Christian past Iroquois 71-to-62 tonight to give the Lady Eagles the championship of the Girls Sweet Sixteen.
The Lady Eagles (34-and-3), champion of Region 11 and a first-time participant in the state basketball tournament, became the eighth team in the events history to win the championship on its first attempt. Lexington Catholic was the last to do so in 1999.
