Funny Story on Haley
#1
I ate dinner with Bev (Haley's Mom) after the loss to LCA and we were talking about her past, present and future. She then shared a story which made us all laugh so I thought I would share it I don't think she will care.

When Haley was a young child early in her childhood it was her parents dream for her to play basketball something Haley on the other hand did not really see as a big deal. When her parents first decided to place her into little league they placed her into Mullin's little league program. The first day of try outs here each child is placed with a number on their back and all join in the middle of the floor Haley refused to join. She ran down the steps of the Mullin's gym and made like a dart for the door. Bev ran after her only to confront an angrey child. Bev then asked Haley what the problem was and she said she really did not want to play, Bev then asked Haley what she could do to get her to play. Haley's only answer was buy me a pair of rollerblades, as Bev contemplated what to do and she agreed. So all in all both were happy Haley got her rollerblades, and became one of the top players all time to play in the 15th region. Well and Bev she got to watch her young child grown into a women over the past years and watched her play in nearly every game and cheered Haley on to 2 regional championships, 2 district championships, 2 regional MVPs, 4 regional all tournament teams, 1 state all tournament team, 1 elite all player of the game, as we wait to see we can all anticipate a 1st team all state and college D-1 signee.

Thank's for sharing that, I for one am interested in knowing more about Haley's life as a basketball player! That is something that I find very interesting, knowing what got, not only Haley but some of the other seniors in the 15th, them interested in playing basketball!

I liked it!

I enjoyed it too, but I'm a Haley fan and like to learn about her past and what her future plans are. I'll bet she could rollerblade and play ball at the same time. GO HALEY!!!! No matter what college you decide to attend, I'll be cheering you on, homegirl.

That kind of reminds me of that story about how Press Maravich got Pistol Pete to go to LSU, I seen on that CBS documentary they had a few years back that Pete told Press he wasnt going to LSU unless Press bought him a car, which Press did and Pete went to LSU.

also didnt hurt that Press was coach there

That is a good story. Just ironic that she didn't want to play and now is one of the best players in this part of the state. You can learn to love anything but turning out to be that good and not wanting to try in the first place is crazy. Best of luck to her with anything she does.

You must be like a haley stalker of some sort. Every post you make is about her. Do you have nothing else to comment on?And you don't have to be so proper when your telling a story.

lmao Yes, she was my English teacher at Pike Central, as well I am a Journalism Major and English Minor debating on whether or not to double major in them. Mrs. Smith, Lockhart and Humphries were great teachers and taught me alot to help me realize where I need to go with my life and continue to improve my writing skills. Much Love goes out to them, oh tell Lockey I said that she better have me a room at state newspaper convention if you see her ever.

To you PBTB I appologize for knowing alot on Haley's past, present and future. I am a huge supporter of the programs at PC and know alot about them which is why I comment alot on them. Much sympathy is shown on my behalf to you for using such proper grammar, that is what College will do for you and having a great English dept. in high school. Maybe you should look into better grammar rather than getting your boxers in a bunch. Rolleyes

On topic please.

I don't think that she is that great. A ball Hog if you ask me. But thats my opinion. I have watched her play several times, not very impressed. I don't see a TEAM player, but as you people state it, what she has won.

how can you say that at state 1st game she had 7 points and like 12 assists, in the second game she had 13 points and 9 assists in the last game she had like 9 points and something like 8 assists if you ask me that a team player. I will agree that when Tussey coached her it was the Haley show but once Butcher took over she understood what she needed to do to win and nothing more. Their is a diffrence between being a ball hog and taking your team on your back when you are down. If you are a ball hog then you arent going to get many looks from D-1 schools.
#25
where are the D1 schools? Haven't heard of any yet?
#26
I'm still not impressed, but thats my opinion

BigEagle Wrote:where are the D1 schools? Haven't heard of any yet?

Ut Chatanogga I can not think of the other school down in TN but there is another. Louisville and Indiana was going to watch a game but she hurt her ankle the week b-4 they were suppost to come down. She has also recived letters from numerous D-1 schools wanting her to come check the schools out. As well if you are not impressed with her then who are you impressed with. You can not say Howard, Carrol or Fleming b/c all four play the same style, when they need to take the game over all do when they know they open man is there they give up the ball. IMO you just do not like the program at PC.
#28
your not a good salesperson. I mean she does good, but all mentioned has good and bad to there game. I think she and the other do have the will to win and heart. I guess that is all matters. I do wish her the best, but most importantly a chance to get a good education.

SlammaBamma, are you related to her or something? 3/4's of your posts are about her and anytime someone speaks their OPINION and it has the least bit of negativity towards her, you fly off the handle? Just an honest question.

No, I am not related to her just a fan, I just think it is ridiculos that someone is not impressed with the way she plays.
