Owensboro Catholic 2018
#1
Predictions?

If they are ever going to beat Mayfield this is the year. They have a boat load of talented sophomores and juniors for next year and they are OL/DL senior heavy.

Last year their OL/DL we’re young.

Plus they have Mayfield at home in the region.

They have a very difficult schedule first 3 games

Daviess Co 6-A ( OC won last year 33-31)
Evansville Memorial (Indiana 3-A state champs)
Owensboro ( not sure what to think of them, they change their offense every week)

Don't you think that Catholic's line is still a bit on the small side? Is Williams playing Linebacker, Running back or both? The line backer situation is a bit shaky; isn't that why there is the discussion of moving him to that position? Harold Hogg is going to make a huge impact this year if they make that move and the line holds up.

Cathoilc's defense needs to tighten up. Way too many points given up. County almost knocked you off, Reitz took you to the woodshed as did the (so-called) offensively challenged Red Devils. Catholic will blast through their district and probably the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. But just like Owensboro has Bowling Green, Catholic has Mayfield. As your name implies, Time will tell.

Mayfield will be pretty strong. In my way too early prediction ....Mayfield by 14 plus.

I would love to see Williams and the Hogg kid in the backfield.

DC almost knocked Catholic off, but didn’t you Owensboro lose to DC? It was a strange year last year in the City/County race. Catholic loss big to OHS and lost by a last minute TD to Apollo like Owensboro did.

A healthy Mayfield team will be really special next year. Cant see OC giving them trouble. The Cards have scores to settle in Danville. OC will only be a bump in the road.

I hardly believe that OC made up that big a difference since we last played, even at home. However, they may find a ref to eject a Cardinal or two.

It also won’t be Danville there next year. I would say the Cards will face the winner of CAL and DeSales at Lex.
