BERKELEY, Calif. – Aaron Holiday scored a team-high 21 points, while Thomas Welsh collected a double-double with 19 points as the UCLA men's basketball team earned a 107-84 win over California on Saturday from Haas Pavilion. The Bruins improve to 12-4 on the season and 3-1 during Pac-12 play.

The 107 points is the most by UCLA this season as the Bruins made a season-high 17 3-pointers.

Six Bruins finished in double figures led by Holiday who registered his seventh 20-point performance of the season. Welsh collected his 10th double-double of the year with 19 points and 14 rebounds and also made a career-high four 3-pointers.

Alex Olesinski recorded a career-high with 14 points and Jaylen Hands added 11 points and a career-best eight assists. Kris Wilkes ended the game with 16 points on four 3-pointers and Prince Ali added 15.

California (7-9, 1-2 Pac-12) cut the 21-point halftime advantage to 60-46 after a 13-6 run to begin the second period, but UCLA responded with 10 of next 14 points capped off by a Holiday layup to regain a 20-point lead at 70-50 with 14:27 left in regulation.

The Golden Bears once again cut the lead to just 11 after hitting four shots from long range, but they would never get closer as Olesinski would complete a four-point play in the next possession to push the lead back to 15 points at 77-62 midway through the period.

Holiday had 14 of his 21 points in the second half on 4 of 6 shooting with a pair of 3-pointers as the Bruins shot 82 percent (9-11) from beyond the arc.

UCLA led 54-33 at halftime jumping out to a quick 13-2 lead to open the game thanks to three 3-pointers. The Bruins took its largest lead of the half at the 5:27 mark after going on a 12-4 run thanks to an Olesinski's second 3-pointer of the period and capped off by an Ali layup to lead 42-19.

Welsh finished the first half with a double-double tallying 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting and 11 rebounds. Hands also added nine points in the opening half.

The Bruins shot 58 percent (32-55) from the floor, including 57 percent (17-30) from 3-point range and forced 26 California turnovers. The Golden Bears shot 41 percent (30-73) from the field and 36 percent (8-22) from behind the arc.

UCLA returns to Southern California next week when it hosts Utah on Thursday, Jan. 11. Game time is 8 p.m. (PT) at Pauley Pavilion. The game will be televised.
