A 22-year-old woman was killed after a 12-year-old boy attempting suicide by jumping off an overpass in Virginia landed on her car Saturday afternoon, investigators said.
Virginia State Police said Marisa Harris of Olney, Md., was driving east on Interstate 66 when the boy landed on top of her Ford Escape, WRC-TV reported.
While the boyâs jump left Harris âincapacitated,â he survived and was being treated for life-threatening injuries at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Harrisâ boyfriend, who was sitting in the SUVâs passenger seat, steered the car to the side of the road, police added. Harris died at the scene.
Harrisâ family members told WRC she was a graduate student at Marymount University in Arlington, where she studied clinical counseling.

The mother of the woman who died just gave an interview in which she said that her daughter could have helped this 12 year old with his problems. As deep in grief as she appeared to be, she was still kind enough to reach out to this kid who tried to kill himself.
This is the kind of person I strive to be. But, if this happened to my daughter, I could not be this gracious.
So very sad!
