Im going to take powell in this one..theyre pumped from the district championship and i hate to say it but i think all mighty jbs will be going home first round

I think Powell's pressing open style hurts them against JBS. Jbs will win by 10.

Wow. What a draw. This will be a great game. There is so many factors that could decide this game. Either team has a great shot. Wouldnt want to miss this one!

If our boys play team ball, I think JBS can pull this one off. I'm almost afraid that Powell will be too much for them though. JBS boys need to get it together and get their hearts into the game, and we might have a shot at this. Go Crusaders!

I'll take JBS if they play team ball and like they did in the earlier part of the season this year, but if the team tht played KCC shows up i doubt their chances.

the reasons im taking powell
1.Collins can not guard romans
2.powells defensive pressure will force clark stepp to give the ball up
3.also powells defensive pressure will stop most other players from scoring
4.Powell with 11 seniors is wanting it more

I would have to disagree with you on this. Powell County has a few players that are very capable of guarding clark stepp with great pressure. Jon Skidmore, Josh Pelfrey, Danny Dennis, Daniel Kinser, or Jeremy Banks are capable of guarding clark.

yeah they have plenty of defensive players who can guard him...jeremy banks shut down justin hicks in the first half while he was guarding him...so i know he can do the same for ol daddy stepp

As bad as I hate to say it JBS got beat by KCC so I think they will really show up and beat Powell. I hope that I am wrong though.

I think if jbs comes out and plays team ball they can beat anyone. But however im afraid that the moral at jbs is so low right now due to all the crap thats been going on over there that their chances may not be too good. think about it, how would you feel if you were a good player and busted your butt every day in practice and in the games and all you ever got to do was get out of the way so someone can force a shot or shoot his arm off behind the three point line. Give credit where its due, the steps are both talented players and if they are hot can make a big difference in the game but lets face it they cant win by themselves! WE need a strong inside game. And we have the talent to do it. how long do you think its going to take the other coaches to figure out all they have to do is shut these two boys down and you win. They have a ton of talent on that team that is never used, and i think the kids are sick of it and getting pretty tired of killing themselves to make the 2 steps look good. For goodness sake you have Collins inside at 6' 9" any team would have a hard time defending him.
And another thing, Justin Hicks said it best after winning the all A. DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!!!!!!! What the heck kind of defense are we playing? What ever it is it sure isin't working. Imo we need to come out and play a hard core man to man defense and put some constant pressure on the ball, from start to finish. I am so sick of this zone crap. IT"S NOT WORKING!!!! I know it takes alot of effort to play tough defense, but i guess it all comes down to how bad do you want the W!
I think every jbs fan would love to see clark, clint or any other jbs player go on to a great future in basketball. I would be proud to someday say that i sat in the stands and cheered them on to many championships. Instead of they were on one of the most talented teams i ever watched and they couldnt even win the district bacause the coaches had a starstruck family agenda. Come on people its time to play to win as a team. I dont care what kind of stats you have, a win will always make them look better.

most of hicks' points came in thefourth, he pulled up from the volleyball line and shot cause he couldnt get any closer, and when he did he got fouled and made his freebies. powell can shut down the stepps, powell's high octane defense and offense can get 80 or 90 points easy when they get it rolling. jbs is good, their record shows they can play with anyone, but powell is deternmined to win the region this year. powell will have to play like its a game against estill or lee to win. jbs has to find a different scorer to win.

Hicks still got 30 on ya. I hate to tell ya but Stepp isnt going to quit playing in the 4th quarter and Cox will shoot it from the Volleyball line as well.

the game I saw stepp play, he did stop in the 4th quarter. He seemed out of shape and couldn't do much late. i believe that Powell can do the same and will move on to the second round. What big guy on their team can keep up with Powells big men running up and down the floor?

I agree with you breakingankles, and I agree with Powell Fan up there, Josh Pelfrey has some mean defense but they definetely arent hurting really bad if he gets tired, they have plenty of back up till he's ready to go again. I have to laugh each time Pelfrey gets the opposing teams PG all upset, till they mouth at him and he just smiles and walks away. Too bad all players can't be that easy going... So you are right, I would pick him to guard stepp as well. :Thumbs:

I never saw Clark Stepp tired in his life. or out of shape. He won't guit, but if he will PASS the damn ball instead of trying to do it all him self JBS might have a chance. His Bro needs to be in the game on offence and set on the bench on defence. All lil Stepp can do is hit an open three. Brent Hall can stay in with most anybody on rebounds. Collins is 6' 10" and your big man is 6'1". Short is 6'6". If JBS plays team ball I'll take them by 10

As bad as I hate to say it JBS will take this one. The Stepps will be prepared for the Pirates. Knott blew Powell out at Powell and JBS is about as good as KCC. Letcher is a nuetral site and JBS also has size to throw at Romans.
