So, I have been a way for sometime and I wanted to come back and check the feelings on BGR.
So here is what I gather, Hillary Clinton is the devil. Life has not improved, but she is the devil. People are leaving the area, but she is the devil. The state unemployment rate continues to rise, but she is the devil. Life expectancy has gone down, but she is the devil.
I am genuinely sad for the people in Eastern Kentucky. It is my prayer that they wake up at some point and have some ideas on how to improve the area.
God bless and good luck!

Devil translated into the original Greek means "the slanderer." She slandered just about everybody in the nation in her recent book entitled "What Happened." So ironically, you actually got a piece of the truth here. Go figure.
ABTW, you don't stand up in front of a huge group of coal miners on national TV no less, and tell them you're about to drop the unemployment hammer on them for life. That is, unless you're TRYING to lose that is. :hilarious:

Nope. You lie to them and tell them you're bringing coal back even though you know it isn't going to happen.

How about, you take all of the stupid EPA restrictions off so that they at least have an opportunity to produce something that is available if the market so desires the product? That's where you start.
Libs don't want to tell that part where they were regulated out of business due to an ideology.

LOL, yeah Bob but the liar is the guy who vows to undo the mess left behind by the Obama administration. No way him or his administration lied about a thing. I know I'm banking my retirement on that 2,500 dollars I'll SURELY be getting back, just as MR Obama promised over and over again.
Yeah the conservatives are liars and the libs tell the truth. Or maybe they just change the rules every two seconds, or more frequently as need arises.

And yet during the coal boom days, you were never without electricity, were you?

My idea on irony--- A guy who picks his species confused avatar from Cartoon Network, can try to come on here and BS his way through a conversation about the energy industry. The only reason the miserable 1% GDP for the Obama administration wasn't in.the negative range, is thanks to fracking.

I agree that some EPA reg. were overreach. I also believe fracking causes longer lasting damage than deep mining. Coal > Gas IMO. (Burning both is the opposite). But the industry is almost gone now in this area. But here we are 7 months in with a Rep. house, senate and president and they just started laying off the last mine in the county where I live. Republicans blamed Obama for years. Instead of lying about the coal industry coming back to win elections how about some helpful ideas? That's what it is, lies. And anyone who believes otherwise hasn't looked at one simple line graph from the 80's till now. And by definition makes the person a fool.

Lol, I thought it was funny. At least I didn't follow other people's example on here and accost your person. You're going to need to decide whether to actually cultivate your own opinions, or get them handed to you like the members of the posse. Fracking doesn't hurt a thing, just another imaginary threat from the minds of tree huggers.

Apparently you don't know the first thing about fracking...Not that I'm shocked though. It's not a new technology, and has been in use for many decades...That's what makes this whole subject so funny. Liberals, I guess all of sudden found out that there was this new fangled process used to extract oil from the ground. (haha)..It's just the latest flavor of the month for the clueless bunch who want to shut down the very thing that heats and lights their homes and powers their automobiles...:eyeroll:

Now Robert tell them the biggest reasons behind the oil and natural gas boom in 2005 the Republican controlled congress passed a energy bill that was signed into law by a Republican president that exempted the oil and gas companies from the CLEAN WATER ACT and also the Advanced horizontal drilling technology
Made the oil and gas easier to get. And another big reason western coal is a lot cheaper than Appalachian coal
Oh dear!! Could Obama be "the next one"???
Can you say Obamagate???

It has also always been inferior quality coal compared to eastern Kentucky coal and it will always be inferior. What Obama did was to impede the issuance of mining permits for coal companies operating in the eastern U.S. and fill regulatory agencies such as the EPA and OSM with fellow radical left wing activists.

I have never understood the mentality of a guy who works in the mines , yet supports an agenda of a party hell bent on putting himself out of a job...
Can anyone else understand the stupidity of that logic?

I know I never could. He must have slept through the awakening which occurred last November, when organized labor finally realized how Dems had been making fools of them and elected DJT.
That's when the establishment stepped up though, to defraud the voter and defy their duly elected President. I'm not one of those who believes the US will survive this. In fact, once the voter lost his voice it was already over.

You certainly are right when it comes to one thing...I cant for the life of me figure out why anyone who is employed in a mine related job would not support Donald Trump 100%..Why would anyone employed in a mine related job want him to fail? That is the stupidest thing I can think of.

If I were a "catdoggy" the guilt would eat me alive that I was so desperate that I pretended (aka lied) to know something about "fracking" on a message board discussion too...But that didn't stop you from doing that. Did it?
How 'bout it? Guilt eating you alive?

A president promising and (carrying out) to put a whole energy sector out of business by over regulating it to extinction is what lead to seeking other options...Now you have the same dingbat element (aka democratic party sympathizers) now wanting to outlaw the decades old fracking process as well. It doesn't take a blooming genius to see that.
You didn't even have the first clue about what fracking even is, but just had to blab on and on about what you probably read in some liberal spout off publication like the Huffington Post.

Private Spellchecker 25 years ago they couldn't give western coal away but slowly the power plants installed scrubbers in there newer power plants so they could burn cheaper western coal while the coal in this part of the country was getting much higher cost to mine and the Coal seams are thinner I will agree Obaama probably speed the decline on coal but the 2 most biggest things eastern coal had going against them is the natural gas boom which by the way helped from the GOP party and cheaper western coal
The only future in coal in this part of the country is met coal which by the way the EPA does not regulate if you work at a place where you mine steam coal it's not good for you and you better mine it cheap
So why keep telling them lies unless you want there vote it's time to retrain the younger miners it will be better for them in the long run especially there health

Such scrubbers allow power plants to burn cheap, high sulfur coal, such as what is commonly produced from coal mines in western Kentucky and northern West Virginia.
