I believe absolutely none of this crap!!!
#3
yeah its unbelievable...give it to those Hollywood idiots to try and dispute anything and everything in the Bible..its Camerons ticket, let him cash it.

75% of that is from the Da Vinci Code basically...

#5
Thats stupid, none of that is true
#6
Those of you exclaiming that none of this is true and that nothing in the film is true, I have a question.

Have any of you actually watched the film???
#7
I didn't watch it but read something on it. Jesus was a popular name back then as was Mary and Joseph. I believe like 50% of all women and 50% of all men had those names. I think it's just some people trying to dispute everything in the Bible because they are afraid that the Bible is the word and we are living in Revaltations....and I truly believe that the end of time is near.

I feel you can't truly discredit the film without watching. It would be like saying, "I don't believe in God." without ever reading the Bible.
Just like I can't truly credit the film right now, as I've only seen certain parts of it.

Jesus was a popular name then, as it is now(more popular today is Hispanic cultures). However, there is also the fact that the probability of this occurring varies. Right now, they are saying that the probability of finding a tomb with all of these names, etc. is 600 to 1.

However, if they include the tomb of James(the brother of Jesus), found very close to this same tomb the probability increases to 1,000,000 to 1.

DNA may help determine whether the two sets of bones were related, furthering support for the case.
#9
If they prove the bones are related, does that mean it was was the bones of our savior or maybe a coincidence that there were two other brothers with those names? I don't know how they can prove it belongs to that one family without some descendent...
#10
As far as I know it's just based on probability. The DNA is so little, it's IF they can prove they are related.

After that, it's just probability unless they find the tombs of any descendants.

How would these bones and these facts gone 2 thousand years without being found or noticed it they hold evidence of the most well known and important figure in history??

"Coming to His own country He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, "Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And are not His brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all His sisters with us? Where then did this man get all this?" And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house." And He did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief." (Matthew 13:54-58 RSV)

Didnt have too, I have read the Bible, which teaches he rose from the grave.I really really believe this.If that film would have been about disproving Islam, they would be calling for the death of anyone associated with the film. The Christian will just disagree with the film and pray for those who would believe this.Does that make since to you Comfort Eagle why watching it would be a waste of my time.No offense intended towards your post pal!!
#16
If Jesus had not conquered death and rose from the grave the Bible would be worthless.

If you believe the bible there is no reason to watch the movie is there Comfort.Im curious,,Do you believe Jesus was the son of God and he rose from the grave?
#18
If you believe in the Bible like you say you do, then you should be comfortable enough to watch a film like this. Or are you afraid it will change your mind? If not what does watching a documentary hurt?

My point for even posting in this thread was because everyone was putting down the movie and they've never even seen it.

I'm not saying you have to watch it, but you don't have to automatically call something crap without first watching it, just because it differs from your beliefs.

Do I believe the Bible is a book containing carefully selected works from a long time ago? Yeah, sure.

Your answer is not even close to the question.Do you believe the bible is the word of God?

No it would not hurt to watch Comfort but it would be for me like watching a movie about werewolfs.I wouldnt watch that either because it would just be silly to me.If your offended because I believe the Bible and its story about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, well you will just have to get over it.Why are you trying to argue for a film that tries to say Jesus is not who the bible says he is.
#22
Not trying to sound mean or make you mad but it really is crap Comfort,,if you trully believe In Jesus.
#23
I'm sure it is.

I bet your a Big EKU fan.

the reason I wont watch it is simple. I believe Jesus is the Son of God (the ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD), and He ROSE from the grave. I believe the Bible is the Word of God, and Im one of those "uncool" guys that believe in my Holy Bible. I dont question the credibility of It, because IT IS THE WORD OF GOD. So no, Im not going to fall for some get rich quick scheme by some big shot Hollywood director to get me to question my faith. These Hollywood guys need a wake up call...so I agree with Old School Dawg and Playboy...question though, Comfort Eagle posted in post #10 about DNA..How? I thought the best they could do with that is carbon date what they find..but nonetheless itll all go for nothing..

No tolerance for anything unfamiliar. So sad.

ComfortEagle Wrote:No tolerance for anything unfamiliar. So sad.

no tolerance? When is enough enough? For years scientists have been trying to disprove the christian faith.. and basically only the christian faith. now why is that? Is it because we believe in 1 true god. And not a person who said they were a god? I mean for years all we've heard on the news is "body of Christ found" "clothes of Christ found, inside the tomb in which he was buried.."

it's all been crap.. and it will continue to be crap.. i'm sure most of us here have seen the Da vinci code.. I have and read the book.. and truthfully, it was crap too.. but there was just enough truth in it to make it look real to non-believers.. The christian people are really tired of being ridiculed for what they believe.. and it's not goin to change.. If you read the Bible you will see prophecies, of the end of time.. And from the looks of it, it's looks like we are close..

This war is another thing. Christians know why this war is goin on and why it has been goin of for a long time now.. But everyone else thinks it because someone wants to get rich.. //

now you say no tolerance for unfamiliar things, but the truth is people can only tolerate so much before it just becomes ridiculous.. I'm sure this documentary isn't goin to be any different from the million other documentaries about the christian religion. and it's all one-sided. no one can just accept the fact that, about 2000 years ago, God came to Earth and walked as a man. and died like a man, but then rose back up as God..
I'm in love with Tawnya.. hehe..

Tom is not my friend....
