First of all, I want to apologize to district 57 fans. I always thought that we were the most obnoxious fans but tonight at the Prestonsburg game, I was proven wrong. For years, we have yelled at the refs and cheered on our kids and sometimes made fools of ourselves (myself included). But, tonight I endured some of the most obnxious behavior that I have ever heard or seen in my life It's one thing to yell at and criticize the refs;everybody does that. But don't come into someone else's gym and constantly run your mouth about the opposing team and the school itself. If you don't want to pay for a reserved seat, sit in the bleachers. Another thing, don't make personal remarks about the kids. For example, it's none of your business if the entire Hornet basketball team has tatoos(we think they look good!) My point is when you come to another school you have no idea if you are sitting with players' parents. As for the people who sat behind me, if you "would rather take a beating than come to Magoffin" STAY HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!:argue:
Prestonsburg parents, you could take lessons from your children; they behaved much more maturely and respectfully than you did. Great job Blackcats and good luck to the Blackcat cheerleaders this weekend! Thank you Dr. Burchett for taking care of Devin. This post is not addressed to Trevor Patton's mother (very nice lady) or number 33's parents. We know that you are not representative of the majority of your fans.

I am aware of the situation you are speaking about. I believe that the problem is the way that your tickets are sold. Lets face it fans from either school says things about the other teams players and school or what ever. But, when you sell numbered seating and you mix parents from both schools you are asking for trouble. It was amazing that they would do this. This creates a volitle situation.

Not being rude but the problem was Magoffin's fan's being on the Prestonsburg side. Go to your own side!! The Prestonsburg fan's could not say anything without having it criticized by a Magoffin fan. And if the tattoo's are none of our business, well so is the length of our player's hair. I heard a comment about that tonight from a Magoffin fan sitting in front of me, that I believe was more rude than making a comment about a tattoo.

Completely agree 100%. Pburg had one small section in the entire gym and yet they sold tickets to MC in that section also when they didn't even sell all the tickets on the other side for reserved or the other section beside Pburgs small part. So if you don't like what you hear go sit somewhere else. I heard several things said about Pburg players, coaches and fans but yet when something is said by Pburg fans then you want to cry about it. Face the fact you got beat at your own game tonight.

Here is an idea, sell the seats by the game and not the season, this way you won't have empty wasted seats. As for the Pburgs kids they are just that kids and those seats a very small and close with no leg room at all so it may not have been intentional.

There were plenty of open seats on the Magoffin reserved side left open. If you paid for your seat to watch the ball game, fine. But why would you buy reserved tickets to sit with the opposing team's fan's all season? That is just plain stupid. You are only asking for trouble.

I have a better idea! How about Magoffin only sells reserved seats to their fans and everyone else can sit in the bleachers or just stay at home. This would solve that problem. Don't believe me, check out the next UK game and see how many opposing fans are in the lower level. Furthermore, my seats were also taken by some of the Magoffin students. I for one don't mind. The money from those seats goes to the programs and the kids get the benefit. Now to the incident that took place, It is sad that parents can go to a game and get on here and start bashing kids. How would you feel if the bashing was happening to your child. Everyone must remember, high school basketball is about kids and we as adults need to give support for our favorites and all players. It's no wonder Magoffin is the end of a lot of jokes, because this attitude is passed down from generation to generation about specific areas or people. I personally believe that if you can't say something nice about someone, then DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL. Having said that, good job by both teams and good luck to all teams in the upcoming tournaments. Get better soon Devin.

I have family in both area's and the only thing I've ever heard is that Magoffin is a tough place to get a win. I think that this quote only represents a small few, if truly any from the P'burg camp. I don't like the fact that YOU, Old Man Wilderness have posted this type of crap. I don't care how you feel. If you "have nothing against them" why try to insite something with a post of this nature? Magoffin has always played hard and given 110% in a game. They are a physical team and always will be. It's just how they play. P'Burg also is a physical team, and that's just how they play. It's up to the refs to keep an even keel and the game in control. When the refs let it get out of hand that's when you have tempers flairing between players. Old Man Wilderness, take a hike with this quoted post. Support your favorite team, great, but don't put anyone else in the Butt end of your posts.

I completely agree with you, if bleachers is what they sell then that is what I would buy. I love HS bball in this area and try to what as many other schools as I can throught the season. As a matter of fact, I could get in the games free but chose to pay because I know the money goes for the kids and I have never had a progblem with that. Secondly, I have never said anything negative about any area in EKY because this is where I am from and DAMN PROUD of it. My post said nothing negative about Magoffin Co or any kid, I was just responding to the stupid post about Pburg fans. You didn't get on here a read a post saying something about Magoffin fans did you? No it was a post about Pburg fans so now tell me who has the class and more respect? People from Pburg are naturally going to respond and defend themselves.
Both teams played very hard and I personally thought it was a great game to watch and I do hope both teams do well in the future.

I am a Prestonsburg Fan and I can assure everyone here that I respect Magoffin County, thier fans, Parents, Players. It is a tough place to play, but that is compliment. Do not judge everyone based on a few unruly folks. Magoffin has them and Prestonsburg has them and so does every school. Old Man Wilderness, you saying that "nobody from Prestonsburg respects Magoffin County" is totally incorrect. I have some great friends in Magoffin.

I get tired of hearing people say that they are so much better then the people of Magoffin Co. Yeah are kids have tattoos, sure some of the county lives in poverty, sure maybe Magoffin Co. has a drug problem....But NEWS FLASH PEOPLE.... SO DOES THE REST OF EASTERN KENTUCKY. If you don't want to come to Magoffin County....STAY HOME cause without the game will still be played and MCHS doesnt need your 4 to 5 dollars anyways.

I would like to follow up on the comment regarding Dr. Burchett. My good friend was in the locker room while he was looking at Rice's ankle and was talking about what a class act Dr. Burchett is. Apparently he knows him somewhat personnally as well and he said he is an A #1 individual. Magoffin County is also fortunate to have folks from the medical field that follow their teams and devote their time and money. Dr. Scott Arnett comes to mind as someone very involved in the programs as well as Dr. Hardin. Anyway, wanted to express what an asset you P-Burg fans have in Dr. Burchett.

Good post. Dr. Burchett is a class act and a great asset to the Blackcat team. When something happens to a kid he is always the 1st to check on them no matter what team or area they are from. His #1 concern is the kids.

I believe that parents should not say nothing about the other kids about their looks and what not. No matter where they sit. I mean kids may say it but they are kids. Parents should be mature enough to keep their mouth shut about players looks and their tattoo's!

Why the name calling. What is stupid is the fact that Magoffin fans are spread out all over the gym. That is why everyone hates coming over there. YOu guys do everything *** backwards. Just invite trouble and then sit around and cry pity partys cause you get talked about and laughed at. I guess when you guys decided to get civilized, you might get a little more respect.

What I do not understand is why surrounding counties go off and say stupid crap like this? This was a thread talking about P-burg fans making fun of Magoffin's players just because they have tattoo's. So sounds like to me that Pburg's parents need to grow up and stop with the name calling. And don't judge a county by one person, this kind of stuff makes me SICK!
