Small mountain team beating the big city school. Love it

Tates Creek many be from "the big city," but they were doomed from the start of their season. Talking to people from that school, apparently two of their best players (brothers) moved because their parent got a new job and another starter is having academic issues and won't play this year. They lost 3 of the first 4 games by a margin of 30+ points. That being said, It's always nice when the smaller schools win. 😀

Just goes to show how much different the talent level is from our mountain schools to the city schools like Tates Creek. Joe Fay averaged 8.5 ppg last year for Tates Creek, he would have averaged easily 20ppg this year for Morgan county. So one of our better mountain school teams in Sheldon Clark barely got by against a Lexington team that is without what could have been 3 starters for them. Those brothers now go to school at Morgan county. The best one, Joe Fay tore his acl and will miss his entire season season, he did not play a single game this year. The kid can play. His brother is more of a rebounder, defensive player, not a scorer at all. Both around 6"2. They could have really benefited from Joe being healthy. Morgan is struggling this year, and will struggle for the next several years. Not a lot of talent coming up. While we do occasionally have a mountain team that can compete with some of the bigger schools, for the most part it doesn't happen too often.
