I look forward to a hazard/paintsville meeting. Hazard has tightened up the turnovers and there offense is really clicking right now. I see the pikeville game going a different way this time and paintsville will be a great game.

Didn't expect that! They seem to be a pretty good, hard working and talented bunch! Not sure How far they will go but after seeing them first hand there's no way I could count them out! A top 4 team in 1A for sure!

I've earned the right to call them choke artist. I had picked them I think 3 years in a row and they let me down. Once by allowing a Pikeville team, they had already dominated earlier in the year, to beat them. Then 2 years they allowed a Wburg team to comeback and get them.

I'm going to try and stay nice but honestly you haven't earned sh**. You do not play, you don't lay it all out there on the field. These kids do not get paid most will not play again after this year. They play for love of game and each other. So when I see someone who is not as invested as they are attack them I think he is a very low individual who has nothing better to do then pick on high school kids and does it from behind a screen.

I understand where 55 is coming from, poor choice of words, but its not much different than what I said in the offseason if u read between the lines. I dont THINK what he said, was intentended to cut our kids down. Which imo, is what he put the subtle disclaimer of the "those running the show" comment. It did indeed come across that way though and as i said it was a bad choice of words.
We lose the biggest game of the year, every year. So from the outside looking in (and for some the inside looking at it as it is), its hard to pick us in the big games. I am kind of thinking we make it over the hump this year though.
Idk, i kind of expected us to beat Paintsville in the regular season and beat Russell, then lose in the regional championship.but now im thinking it may be the reverse scenario. Everyone is always so quick to go off. Just trying to play devil's advocate for a guy thats been a big supporter of ours on here.

Thanks Scotty. You know where I'm coming from. It has nothing to do with calling kids out and I absolutely despise the way some on here act as though it was a call out on kids. The fact is, the Rams teams over the past 3-5 years have choked at the most inopportune times. Usually, right after I pick them to beat, Fairview or Williamsburg. To be honest with you, I hope it absolutely infuriates them and maybe puts a fire in their bellies to win. I have kind of rooted from afar since the year about 3-4 of their players come set with us to watch us crush Fairview. We talked with them boys and even told them that we wanted to see them there the next year. I never meant anything near trying to bash the kids. But, you have the right to be mad and oh well, I will live on.

I love giving 55 crap, but I really don't think he meant anything bad by it. Using the word Choke might not be the best word, but I had a Trinity alum tell me the same thing about Mayfield last week.

Nothing really personal against MS55, just swinging for the bleachers. I figure if I get at least 4 likes, I hit a home run. Looks like I just got to 1st base. Lol.

Well, yes, in my personal opinion. They have the size and the athletes to pull off the east. They are not getting it done. There is a problem there. I go back to the years with Fairview and Wburg beating them. They should have, with that talent, at least won one of those. They proved they could in middle school but, they laid an egg in high school. That is how you start to figure out that there is a problem. Fix that and fix your program. Look at what Pikeville did. They fixed the problem. Now, sorry if it hurts your feelings, but I'm simply calling it as I see it. I pissed off a bunch of Wburg fans a few years back for telling them they weren't ready for Mayfield. I don't know, maybe it worked because they became dang good. Hopefully my remarks or whatever Spurs enough animosity that it works for the Rams. It's just that way with football. You can't have thin skin. When I coached, I learned that for the majority of the kids, if I pumped them up and praised them they would run through a brick wall. But, there were some that I simply had to piss off and then they would go into full blown attack mode and play like rabid dogs. Maybe this is what is needed there because, in my opinion, they are underachieving for what they have. And yes, I know what they have. I have seen them. I believe they have some kids that could be awesome if they just get properly motivated. Enough said. If you are still ticked, then so be it.

Raceland has had a spotty playoff record for sure. In 2012 we overlooked Pikeville and had a rude awakening in the playoffs. In 2013 and 2014 I believe Williamsburg was clearly the better team or else they wouldn't have beaten us so handily. I wouldn't call those years choking as much as it was being unprepared or facing a better opponent.
The worst examples that I can think of Raceland truly choking in the playoffs were in 2006 and 2008. In both of those regional championship games we were up late in the game, blew large leads, and didn't go for the knock out blow to put those teams away. A lot of people think 2008 was the most disappointing year we have had but I think 2006 was more disappointing because we had an opportunity to put away a team that traditionally smashed us and didn't take it. That team was also the ones that set into motion the success that Raceland teams have been seeing in recent years. Hopefully this is the year the Rams get that monkey off their backs and we finally make it to the carpet.
