I must add the the 10th spot was up for grabs with 6 teams only separated by no more than 1-2 points.

Paintsville and Raceland headed towards a big showdown.

Glad the Tiggers pulled it off.You guys would've had a hard time explaining why Bourbon County was number one this week.

I'm really scratching my head about why Fairview is a top 10 team. They have had a running clock against then at halftime in 2 of their past three games and their next two games aren't getting any easier. Granted those teams that beat them were really good but I just don't see them being a top team in the state and there surely have to be other teams to consider over them.

^^^agree , Fairview was hurting coming into this year and now with the injures they are a Jv team playing varsity . It was 50-0 at the half last week. Fairview's starters beat lca jv the second half 16-14

Max preps has beechwood 1 , Raceland 2 and Paintsville 3 .. Fairview is 9
09-26-2016, 05:02 PM
I would agree with that.I would say Beechwood has played the tougher schedule

Hell, who knew MaxPreps was located in Greenup Co :please:

Just not mountain biased . Rankings really don't matter just people opinion I was comparing the two . It will be settled on the field

I agree^^. Rankings are just for the fans! Has no real impact on game night!

I agree. I myself don't think there worthy. I voted for Bishop Brossart this time... Several teams where close. 1-2 points separated the teams for that 10 spot.. Such as Williamsburg, Lynn Camp, Bracken Co, Harlan, Bishop Brossart and Fairview..

A little off point, but AP polls just released have Nicholas County ranked ahead of Pikeville. Lol

I can't really see Nicholas County being ranked higher than Pikeville. Nicholas may be undefeated but they really haven't played anyone and Pikeville's losses came to the #1 teams in 1A and 3A. I think all the talk about Raceland and Paintsville has made some people forget about the Panthers. If I were a Pikeville fan I would enjoy flying under the radar because recent history has shown that Pikeville is a team that peaks in the playoffs and they should most definitely not be overlooked.

Trying to give Fairview the be efit of the doubt due to injuries. But they wont be back and im not sure that even without the injuries they are top 10 now. They will be out of my top 10 next week. My rankings were hastily submitted so i think i did include them in mine. I think the top 3 have seperated themselves, but the next 3 could very well knock any of them off. The rest, a top 10 ranking is likely all they can hope for from here on out.

The top 3 have. But the next 3 are not that far behind. Hoping my Hazard team can come up with a win at Pikeville the last win @ Pikeville was in 2010. but the last regular season win was in 1940 or something..

I picked Pikeville to win it last year. Also had them pegged at being better this year but they are similar to Ashland in losing more upfront than what I thought they would. Pikeville is in a good place right now. They just need to find that leader on the field imo. Replacing Pugh was replacing more than just yards and TDs. He was the go to guy. Much like Kash in Paintsville. One thing is for sure, its going to take a TEAM to win it all this year. balance on both sides of the ball and special teams are going to come into play in late november.

I agree! It's gonna take a TEAM that's solid and balanced on both sides of the ball! I would NEVER count Pikeville out! Could be a costly mistake for any team that does! Not counting out Hazard either this year!

That's the whole problem with Pikeville football, no true leader! Hard to replace Pugh! Too much bickering between players and certain ones out for their own stats. The coaches need to get handle on it or their bid for state title is out of the question!

I'm jumping on the Raceland band wagon. Go Rams !

Sounds a lot like Raceland last year, and the kids attitudes were a direct reflection of their parents only thing that cured Racelands problem was graduation
