At least management's finally taking a clue and realizing we need a defense... they have a poll on their website just to see what the public thinks:
20%- Defensive tackle
17%- D end
25%- Linebacker
29%- defensive back
5%- tight end (if they draft a tight end in any of early rounds I might kill someone)
What does everybody think for the first two rounds?

Forgot to point out that the management's looking at linebackers, defensive ends, safeties, corners, and defensive tackles for at least the first two rounds. They need to spend all of their top picks on those things in my opinion

So what numbers Draft pics they got?

They definately need to get some defensive players.

18th........ then 50th...... then I believe they traded their third round pick......
But there should be solid defenders who can contribute to the team left in the mid-to-high rounds

They will draft someone who just got out on bail.

Yeah, since there was a reason to post that and since that comment has merit........
With the first two picks, I think the Bengals should take either a cover corner or Quinn Pitcock at defensive tackle
Then they don't have a third round pick, but in the rest of the rounds they should get a defensive end or two, a backer (preferably middle), a safety, and all defenders (maybe a late-round steal of a solid tight end).

I say a LB...Of course if a good CB is available, YOU NEVER PASS UP ON HIM!!!

You are wrong my friend. The bail comes after the draft, and this is coming from a Bengals' fan.

Just a joke man, and u should take it as that!

Bengals needs to use better judgement that they have in the past..I KNOW THAT, wit the exception of Pollack!

Now I think they should draft a solid corner in the first round, then a defensive tackle/end, then a backer in the fourth (traded third round pick), and then another D tackle or D end, then if there's any good offensive linemen left, then if there's any solid tight ends.

Like I said, if there is ever a SOLID CB, then you never pass him up
02-01-2007, 02:22 AM
Like previously mentioned, you always go for the good corner. Man, I still have high hopes for Jonathon Joseph, but...
Anyways, if it were up to me, I would take a DT in the 2nd, if not the first round. Sam Adams is solid, but three plays at one time is the most productive he'll be. That and age is catching up to him.
Don't know much about the Peko guy from Mich St., other than he looked very promising this year, and should develop into an all around good DT.
What's the deal on Justin Smith? Last I heard it was between him and Steinbach, and they let Eric go because of the salary cap. I also heard from another source, that they didn't keep either.
I plan on buying a Bengals Steinbach jersey fairly soon. I have a feeling Finish Line will pull out the 37.50 deal on them before too long.

Oh yea, I imagine with your 4th pick, you pick up OLB or MLB, 5th & 6th you try to get another corner and possibly a tight-end and 7th.. well, i'm defintely not saying you can't get talent from the 7th round (TJ Houshmanzadeh for example) but it's hard telling what you could scrape up.
Perhaps another defensive utility player?

yeah you can dig up some fairly solid picks in the later rounds...that sixth round quarterback named Brady that New England took a few years ago turned out pretty good for them, lol....Marques Colston, Houshmandzadeh, etc...

Unfortunately...
Nah, I much as I want to dislike him, I'm a pretty big Tom Brady fan.
I want to hate Bellicek so bad too, but I can't.
He's the Bobby Knight of the NFL.

I disagree, if anybody was the Bobby Knight of the NFL, it was Bill Parcells, but he's gone now.

I agree BFritz, but that would be Parcells in his early days. He turned soft his past couple of years! I would have liked to have seen him with T.O. in say...The early 90's!
02-03-2007, 02:51 AM
Ok, so Parcells was more of a Bobby Knight than Bellicek was, but that doesn't negate the fact that Bill has a little Bobby Knight in him, IMO..
02-03-2007, 08:57 AM
Just not seeing it Gorn, lol. Although after all of this is coming out about him telling Ted Johnson to go back in after a concussion, lol..I think I am seeing your point!

LOL I can hear it now:
With the 18th pick in the NFL Draft the Cinncinatti Bengals select from the Clinton County Corretional Facility.............

I'm sorry folks. We regret to inform you that Bengals last pick was just picked up by the cops for smoking weed in the bathroom.

I know you're kidding, but panic so quick? I've been the most non-panic fan around........ When they get in trouble, I'm the one who says "wait and see what really happened," while everyone else is "skip arrest, skip trial, straight to execution," and, a few times (if not most), I've been right. They lose a game or two, I don't panic, I've said "they're still good." I think our troubles with the law are done, but who knows.

The bengals need a good pass rusher
02-09-2007, 12:35 PM
The Bengals are one of the most talented team's in the NFL, what they need is some dicipline, I think that Defensive Back is needed, with the whole Jonathan Joseph thing.
