#1
Thanks everyone for doubting us WE ARE PATRIOTS 26-22
#2
great win for new harlan going to pulaski county and coming out with a hard fought victory against the 7th grade champs. this should show that new harlan is one of the top teams in d3 this year!!
#3
Congrats, but who doubted New Harlan?
#4
NEW HARLAN Is real deal, Big Linemen, Big fullback and fast running back. In the words of Ric Flair they just beat the man. Whoooooo! Great game. Jumpers don't be buying those championship rings yet.
#5
New Harlan looked great. If Somerset and New Harlan play it will be a high school JV game so to speak lol. Same size line with matching speed, speed backs 2 big full backs. It will be like twins playing each other. It will be the game of the year. I as a Southern fan would hope that the regions would have them playing state, either of them would roll CAL. great job tonight New Harlan.

No body from Somerset has said anything about buying rings!
Other people that have nothing to do with Somerset are saying Somerset is pretty good.
There is a lot more football to be played before the trophy is handed out.
We don't even know if New Harlan will be in Div.3.
But for tonight congrats to New Harlan great win!

If that's toward me I'm sorry, but Somerset is very good. All we have at Southern is a coach on a scooter, and he doesn't ride it very well either, and will not cheer for Northern. Somerset has a friends son who is a great player so yes I follow them more now. New Harlan was great tonight, and so is Somerset. I wasn't making claim, I'm just saying they are the 2 best teams in D3, and it would be fire works to see them play because they matchup evenly by what I've watched. Sorry if I offended anyone, and bandit you are right to much ball to be played. Who knows what sleeper teams are waiting out west.

Lets keep the focus on the game please, thanks.

This was a great game by both teams.. My heart was pounding the whole last quarter .. Great win New Harlan Patriots.. I am so Proud of you..
#12
If Harlan so good why wait a week before a game and cancel on Johnson county 7 and 8 grade both with a voicemail than win our coach's call you back no answer , sorry for a team to not play a game scheduled and no reason why or make up date
#13
New Harlan is a VERY good football team. Have never seen a team dominate the LOS the way they did, 3 DL that could play on most varsity teams. Northern is bitten by the injury bug, but take nothing away from Harlan they came to play and executed brilliantly. Good luck to both teams the rest of the year. Look for both teams to be in contention at the end of the year.

Knox will destroy them. Thier 16 year olds are better than your 16 teen year olds. Maybe the can play for pink slips of the cars they drive to the game.
#15
Bighitter I don't know why you would say that we have our boys birth certificates and none of them are 16 years old. So you might want to get your facts straight.

Sounds like someone's feelings got hurt. Who do you suspect is 16?

Congrats to New Harlan!!

Lets hope they don't have 16 yr olds.....better not have any 15 yrs old unless they've turned 15 after August 1st....Smile

Do you all know the rules and stop staying stuff you know nothing about. We have the birth certificates come and look at them. You know you can't play if you are 15 before August 1st which is governed by KHSAA and the county has adopted the ruling. So leave our boys alone!!

You can turn 15 before August 1 of your Freshman year.

This correlates to a student being...

16 after Aug. 1 as a Frosh = Legal
17 after Aug. 1 as a Soph = Legal
18 after Aug. 1 as a Junior = Legal
19 after Aug. 1 as a Senior = Legal

Are there any of these players repeating 8th grade this year.

Happens every year, Little Johnnys team get beat, and the easiest thing to do is blame it on hold backs. It's just easier to blame hold backs than admit that the other team is just better than you.

Cant blame the holdbacks anymore either now that the regulation is in full affect.
#24
Why does it matter if they are hold backs and as long as they turn 15 after August 1st it don't matter.

those are the same rules they have used for as long as i can remember.

Actually it does matter. Per KHSAA:

"Effective with the 2015-2016 school year, policies regarding the participation of repeating students at the levels of play below high school interscholastic athletics shall be implemented pursuant to 702 KAR 7:065 as follows:

Beginning with the 2015-2016 school year and thereafter, require that no student enrolled initially in grade (5) through grade (8) during 2015-2016 school year or thereafter who is repeating a grade for any reason be eligible to compete in interscholastic competition involving students enrolled in grades (6) through eight (8) while repeating a grade."

Any more questions?

None of our boys have repeated 8 th grade this is all of their first year being in 8th.. My son did hold back in 6th grade but that was before the 2015. -2016 season .. He is 8th grade now and is 14 he want be 15 until next year so when he plays freshman football he will 15 that whole football season also..

My question was for Bighitter and others that have said the two teams have 16 year olds....yet they won't ever answer about who they are and I know the reason they don't is because the teams have NO 16 year olds ...... !
