Wow! Good job Paintsville.

WOW!!! this was a great game! Paintsville could have backed it in after three but picked up the D in the fourth. SL's game winning bucket was the only field goal they made in the fourth!
Congrats SL, Way to go Paintsville!!! you played very hard!

Congrats to SL and Paintsville

You must just be really excited cause I know you are smarter than that Guru, lol. SL scored 8 points in the 4th to Paintsville's 17 4th quarter points. But you could be right, the other 6 points might have been free throws, lol.

Well.....on the radio, they kept saying that SL had not scored a field goal in the fourth, that all their points were off of six FTs, then the kid got an offensive board and putback w3ith 24 seconds to go to take the lead.
Yes BY GOLLEY!!!! I am smart!!! LOL

Well, I guess that gut feeling I had wasn't a poop after all! LOL! But we still lost. But, they made a great show and showed everyone that we are a pretty good team. Congrats aTigers on a hard fought battle!

Congrats to South Laurel on the win.

Paintsville lost, so no "Congrats" is in order but it sounds like they played good.

I really think South Laurel is pretty overrated though. I know they have Ty Proffit but they struggled to beat a Madison Central team that even Hazard beat.

Congrats to SL. One heck of a performance by Paintsville and I give them alot of credit for not giving up.

so your saying since Paintsville is so overrated and only lost to SL by 1 then SL must be as well. Well i think that is BS, Paintsville and SL are the best 2 teams in the mountains no doubt. So congrats to SL on the victory and Paintsville to a hard fought game to the end!

not trying to start anything, or anything like that, but Paintsville is good, but they are not better than JBS, and they may be the best team in the 15th, with SV, and Belfry, you never know, but Paintsville is good, and this was a nice game for them

So now that Paintsville lost to South Laurel by 1 point, they are the unanimous #2 team in the mountains? Smile

I'd like to know how you figured that one out. If Paintsville and South Laurel play 10 games, South Laurel wins all 10, and Painstville will sniff the Cards' jocks in 1 game. Just like today.

Paintsville might not even be the best team in their region, let alone mountains.

We don't know if Paintsville is better than JBS, we don't know if JBS is better than Paintsville, we won't know unless they play eachother. You can't compare teams on what each did against the same opponent. JBS barely beat Magoffin, by what 11 points, Paintsville beat MC twice now, the worst being by like 16.

Paintsville should have won today. One bad quarter is what got Paintsville beat today. If they played 10 times all on a neutral floor, they would split the series IMO. You don't know how good Paintsville can be when they are on top of their game.

So who is your team, who do you support MRC.

Yeah, but they're only on top of their game like 1% of the time. The rest, they are mediocre. This team has never lived up to the hype and never will. If BMR can't lead this team to win one measly 15th region title, then maybe he's not the coach you all think he is.

Like it has been said a million times on this site, Paintsville plays to the competition they are facing. If they played like they did today against the teams in their region they wouldn't have any trouble. They just don't play good against weaker teams, and 9 times out of 10 their opponents bring their "A" game.

Paintsville cant even handle Gilbert?hehe I am going to pm you redneck and find out about this Paintsville team.
#18
I did pm you with a very long questionaire about Paintsville and your mailbox is full,,CLEAN IT OUT,,hehe Redneck two years this Tiger team went to the finals of the region didnt they? as eighth graders. Its two years later, either they were over rated back then or they have not improved that much or is it a lack of patience by me and other high school basketball fans in the area who was under the impression that this team was really going to be a powerhouse and they just have not had enough time and there still a year away from greatness.2 years most of them will be seniors right? Is it the lack of a bigman, like some have said, that keeps them from dominating.I know they have a good team but was looking ,,2 years ago,,,for something dynamic.Tell me redneck!!

I am not a BMR fan nor am I a fan of Paintsville, but BMR is one of the elite coaches in the state of Kentucky, reguardless if Paintsville wins the 15th region this year or next year.
#20
Old School you are sure right about that.I have watched him coach for years and played against BMR.Anybody who says he is not a really good coach must have something personel against him or are just plain ignorant to the game.

I think Paintsvile might have just proved they are the 2nd best team in the Mountains.
#22
Congrats to the Tigers! Even with the loss you deserve to be congratulated. I guess you guys showed those WYMT people (who think that SL is in the mountains for some reason) that you guys are just as good and deserve to be at least #2 in the Mountains just as much as SL or SV!!

Now back to my previous posts, I will again say that Paintsville does play to the level of their competition, which IS NOT A GOOD THING! They need to bring their A game every night against every opponent and that is what will give them the drive and confidence and consistency to win it all.. Otherwise, they will always be competitive with any team in the area but get knocked off by someone on an off night. Strive to OVER-ACHEIVE not UNDER-ACHIEVE.

Paintsville is the type of team that could play SV, JBS, Hazard or South Laurel 10 times and end up splitting with them. So who knows what will happen in March. I guess the hot team will win as usual, which last year ended up being JC as hard as that might be to believe.

Tigers are still undefeated (along with SV) in District and Region play!!

I agree with you about this team not living up to the hype. They are and have always been better than what we have seen most of the time. And yes they aren't on their game most of the time, but I do think it is more often than 1%. This team has the talent to win the 15th, but that doesn't mean that they will. As for the rest, no one has ever hyped them to win the State to my knowledge. That would be nice, but is expecting too much. But I wouldn't say just yet that they won't live up to the hype. They can if they want to bad enough.

BTW, you still haven't answered the question about who you support???Confusedhh:

Oh yea JBS would kill SL

Head Lobsta Wrote:Oh yea JBS would kill SL

I am not saying they wouldn't, but I wouldn't count on it either! A lot of it would depend on who's night it was. After you get to a certain level of talent, any team can knock off the other on a given night!

Paintsville's main portion of their starting lineup is juniors.. they have this year and next year only for that class of super freshman they once were...

Doc John Wrote:Paintsville's main portion of their starting lineup is juniors.. they have this year and next year only for that class of super freshman they once were...

They only have one senior. You are right Doc, the rest are Juniors. It just kills me that they play like this against top teams then when they play low ranked teams they play like crap. I just don't see how they can look at themselves in the mirror, I would be embarassed to play 3, THREE top 15 teams in the state and take em to the wire then turn around and barely beat some of the weak teams they have beat. I know a win is a win, but playin to the competition is a very bad habit to get in like EKY Sportster said. How can you get in any kind of rythm when you play like that, you can't. I have seen these boys play like they are capable and I honestly believe that they are at least 15 points better than anyone else in the 15th region, except for maybe Valley. They need to sit down and decide whether they wanna play in Rupp Arena and win a couple games while they're there, or if they wanna rent a couple rooms and go watch Shelby Valley represent the 15th region.

Congrats south laurel

The Tigers game SL the best game of any KY school this year, except for SL's losses to Clark Co. and PRP!! But they still should have won it!
