#3

#4

Don't see it that way. Less than 50% winning percentage. 3 District Championships in 17 years. Come on Man that is not exactly burning it up. I'm sure most McCreary Central fans would disagree with you. JMO Confusedhh:

What about Wade Davis?

I like Wade, I think He would work the job harder than it's been worked in many years.:Clap::Clap:

I am to busy to look it up but I have two questions.

1) In the previous 17 years before Jones took over what did the numbers look like? What was the winning percentage? How many District Championships? How many regional championships?

2) During Jones 17 years, how has men's basketball numbers compared to baseball and football, and women's basketball?
Winning percentage, district titles, regional titles?

Maybe your answers will surprise me.

In the same time span:
Somerset (256-229) 7 winning seasons 15 wins per year
Garrad Co. (211-263) 6 winning seasons 12.4 wins per year
Casey Co. (161-337) 0 winning seasons 9.4 wins per year

In 1976 McCreary won Region, again in 1983. In the next 33 years McCreary has not won another Regional. 17 of those years Robert Jones has been the Coach. Not Acceptable.
#15
If Rob Jones has anything to do with who Coaches at McCreary, Jim Voit will be next Coach.
#16
That would be mistake for McCreary Central, they need new blood and a different mind set. They have some talent that will be Juniors this season, but are weak on fundamentals and are undisciplined as a team.

Thank you for looking that up.

So is it fair to say that Robert Jones basketball program has had more success than the other programs in the school during his tenure?

From an outsider looking in , McCreary has had a couple of talented teams but have had a lot of lean years. Unfortunately for McCreary , Wayne county and Southwestern have been on a talent run for a few years in a row now.

From 2011-2016 McCreary Centrals Record was 55 W 105 L No District wins, period. Got beat 29,27,20,59,48 and 23 in District play. Not Acceptable. No other system in the State would retain a Coach with these numbers. Let's move on. Good Luck to the new Coach.

If you agree with a Coach or not it does not matter. Give credit where credit is due. Coach Jones stayed, and worked with young people for 17 years. That's a long time at one school. Good Luck. Good Luck to the New Coach whomever it is. Case Closed.

Good luck coach

Coach Jones has had some very good teams. Talent pool has shrunk since Watts graduated.

Not going to play the Watts Card, like He and His Cronies did against Coach of Football Team.:biglmao:

Well you are a better man than me, because they burnt your A$$ up for years about Watts and how you only won because of him. Dang take out Watts years in Basketball and that win total falls by over 100 wins. :blabbermo:blabbermo

So any news on the search for a new coach. Also a bit curious timing for a long time coach to step down. Was it on his own or did somebody strongly suggest it

If you knew Robert Jones you would know he never gave up anything on his own. My understanding he was told to make a choice what he wanted to do Coach or be AD. So I guess you could say a strong suggestion. Don't know who new coach will be, not much talk right now.
