15TH REGION ALL "A"

Can someone tell me why the rotation was changed this year and it is being played at Paintsville? Their gym is ok, but after seeing the traffic jams and lack of space during some of the girls games, next week is going to be a nightmare!

yea it was crowed for a girls semi final game u need to come 2 hours early fo the boys to get a seat

why is it being held at paintsville......its the 1st time in its history that this tourney is being held there and the gym is way to small

IMO, the All "A" Regionals don't draw a big enough crowd to the games to fill the bigger gyms...but since it's smaller I think the atmosphere will be a lot better. Should be interesting.

mm....its just one of the games to be played to go to the bigger part like semi's or regionals the winner goes to the actual thing i suppose just like any other state tourney im guessing

sounds like however decides were it is wants paintsville to go to a state tourney....they've came close but after getting beat out last year in the championship by 2 they want to make sure that this year the can give them an easy road to a state tourney

I think after last night that Paintsville should have convinced anyone that they don't need to play home to win. That doesn't mean that they will win it, but I don't think where it is played is all that important. And to me the all A doesn't mean that much anyway. Every team always wants the State Title! But no one from this area of the State is going to get it this year so it really is irrelevant. Our teams just play for the trip to Rupp which is reward enough for now.

Do you want me to start laughing right now? I'm not sure who decides who hosts the event, but some people are probably upset because its not at its traditional spots of Allen Central/Pikeville. Paintsville is far from having the easiest road to the championship. Their first game is against South Floyd who gave Johnson Central all they wanted in the first game of the season. Their second round game will be against Pikeville(6-4, gave Paintsville trouble in their match-up earlier in the season) or Phelps(12-3). If they want anyone to go, the cards are set for Allen Central to make a push for their first trip to Richmond in forever. Their bracket has Sheldon Clark, Betsy Layne, and David/Piarist. Just don't sit there and have sour grapes because JC was defeated last night. They have another shot coming up in about a month to take out Paintsville.

First time ever that Paintsville will host the All A, Yes the gym only holds about 1,000, but it has held 200-300 more at times. Remember, that this IS the "Small School Classic" Regional. It should be packed, but that will just add to the atmosphere!!!
There is plenty of parking, if you don't mind walking more than a block, or bloick and a half. I have walked farther at other places.
Paintsville has probably won the 15th All A region more than anyone else....It's about time they got to host it!

I don't see anything wrong with Paintsville hosting because it is for the small schools. The atmosphere has to be great and hopefully there will be really good games. My only problem is that every school that plays in it should have the opportunity to host it. I believe the rotation will be Betsy Layne then Pikeville back to Paintsville then to Allen Central and then back to Pikeville. I heard that some of the schools were thinking about not participating after this years contract expires.

I agree, all schools that participate should have the right to host or the games should be played on a neutral site for all involved.
