Corbin won the opening tip and went straight to the bucket and drew the foul and Andrew Taylor hit only one of two free throws. South took the lead on the first of 6 JJ Ramey threes and had a lead they would never give up. Even with Caleb Taylor in foul trouble South just hit shot after shot and played good defense. A no call at the buzzer to end the half seemed to really deflate the Redhound effort. South then dominated the second half and Corbin just flat went cold from the field and it was over.
Congrats to South Laurel on a great game!!

Seems as though Corbin just throws the ball to Taylor and stands and watches him play basketball.....While he is a great player, a couple more kids have got to become more involved in the offense for Corbin to become a legitimate contender.

South had the better team and played better tonight. It seemed like south couldn't miss and Corbin really struggled shooting the ball. Officiating played no role in this outcome with South playing 15-20 points better than hounds. However, with that said the officiating was horrible both ways. 1 official seemed to call the majority of it in Corbin's favor, another called everything in Souths favor, the third seemed partial. I just don't understand how they let officials that have a known bias against teams officiate. I've said it before one of the officials in this game has made it known publicly that they hate one of these teams and hope they never win another game.

Ass kicking is hard to accept sometimes. I bet the official made Corbin shoot it bad, probably started guarding them..
Corbin was taken to the wood shed!!

I said Corbin was outplayed by 20 points. Said there was just as many bad calls that went against South. 2 of the 3 officials from that crew are horrible plain and simple. All your posts are lame.

Lame is when parents get on here and run that mouth. I watched Harlan co beat our tail and it was there kids out playing our kids. Nothing to do with officiating.
Corbin always blame someone when they lose.

Great game!!! Corbin played hard South is just better this year. The funny thing is I saw a Corbin parent that was a South parent last year talking to Whitley's coach. LOL!!!!

Exactly I hate when parents get on here and run their mouth. I don't have a child playing sports for either school that played tonight. That's why I could make an unbiased assessment that South had more skill on the court and were the better team by about 20 points. It could have been worst if not for one ref and could have been closer if not for another. But either way on average South was 20 points better. I stated officiating had nothing to do with the outcome. I don't want to group you in with the rest of Bell County, because you're one of the few that makes the whole group look bad.

We are blaming South Laurel for being the better team.

I was impressed with the fact that when Caleb Taylor went out early with foul trouble (getting the first two fouls of the game) South kept their composure and Ramey hit 4 straight three pointers to give the lead to the Cardiinals. Corbin made a run in the second half after trailing by as many as 16 and cut it 8 but could get no closer. Andrew Taylor went to the bench, maybe to recharge him for a 4 quarter run but it never came. Although he did come back into the game as soon as he crossed half court the shot was going up with not even a glance at his teammates. He is a gifted player and hit some long range threes and was even trading 3 for twos but it was too little too late. When he fouled out, Maguet was called on to hit some threes and although he got one or two it was not enough. South looked faster and more motivated throughout the game and seemed to win every 50/50 ball.
I thought Coach Petroski did a fantastic job to get his team to this point, just not enough juice to get them over the hump.
On a side note: it looked like the coaching box really bothered almost every coach in the tournament. Several warnings and you could tell it frustrated the coaches but I did think it was funny when an official ran past one coach out of the box to warn the other coach. I guess even officials get tunnel vision.
