Really hurt JC that Tyler Pack fouled out late. But congrats to Lawrence they dominated the overtime period and got the W. The 15th region tournament is going to be exciting once again this year.

You could make the same argument for LC. Robert Dalton fouled out and didn't play the OT period either.

At least Dalton fouled out with 5 fouls unlike Pack who only had 4:welcome:

Need anymore tissues???? Home book had 5, thus he had 5. He really committed about 8 fouls, but the refs only called 5 of them. That was nice of them to do that. nicker:
So what does the seeding for the 57th look like this year?

I'm just really excited for the post season. I have a feeling that there will be some really exciting games and possibly a couple of upsets. Also really hoping everyone can stay healthy.

Someone fix the score correct. The Dawgs never quit in this one probably the biggest win of the season. That big Bullseye on your jersey just got bigger every team in the region wants it but until someone beats you are the favorites. GO DAWGS.

Lawrence County fans, players and coaches.......
I really hope your team wins the 15th region this year.
This season, you guys are the best team by far and the majority of the teams are way down.
If you don't go to the Sweet 16 this year, cancel your program. You will never have the talent you do this year and easier road to Rupp Arena.

If Lawrence County's own coach can discuss the fact that JC showed the world that LC is, in fact, beatable, then their fans should be comfortable admitting that, too.
From the Ashland Daily Independent:
Lawrence County coach Travis York wasn’t sure if the night’s events went entirely in his team’s favor.
“We were hoping to send a message, and I think they were the ones that sent a message tonight even though they didn’t come away with a victory,” York said. “It’s two-fold: one, we proved to ourselves that we can beat them; but they also proved to themselves and the rest of the region that we’re beatable. A ball bounces, a different call here and there, they win that game. Everybody knows that now.”
Now, will the Dawgs prevail in the postseason or will a neutral court push the Eagles to a 5th Consecutive Region title?
It's not a walk in the park for anyone, that was proven by this game.
And for the record, the refs only called Tyler Pack for four fouls. Mistakes are made every day, I don't blame the bookkeeper for the loss -- any time you get out rebounded by 10 and only sink a small percentage of free throws (especially two HUGE ones at the end to clinch the win) you're going to lose a game. However, Tyler Pack should not have been disqualified. Several people had him for 4 fouls. All those people can't be wrong.

Lawrence is glad they are not in the 57th any more. Road to Region is much easier in the 60th.

OK JC fans, talk a lot of trash about the 60th district and you just got hammered by Pike County Central. Anything else you would like to say???????

First off this is by far the worst team JC has had in years. LC is by far a 20 pt better team if they were coached and disciplined correctly. Anyone who knows these LC kids and seen them play knows what talent they have but the coaching staff has no clue how to utilize it. Those comments by the coach are out of line just like his coaching ability and discipline. This is the only team in the region that has all five starters that hit 1000 pts in their junior year and one as a sophomore. Tell me that's not talent. You have other teams with one certain player that scores 30 - 40 pts a game and that's why those players get recognition so much. We have five that's in double figure most every game but no one seems to notice that. Imagine if any one of these players was on a team by their self. They would be avg at least 30 per game. This coach does not no how to handle this talent and screws up most games. We battle to win against teams we should be blowing out of the water, not to disrespect the other teams. If and its a big if, we make it to RUPP, it will be no credit to this coaching staff but to these boys who have worked their but off. These boys have had one good coach since middle school and he is now at mercer. Look at Mercers record. 🤔

Let's test your IQ since you think I'm the idiot. What part of this do you not agree with? Apparently you must think 90% of the fans and players are idiots because they feel the same. You must hear all the talk if not you are completely out of touch with reality. So not that many people are wrong. Even the older generation whom have seen many coaches throughout their lifetime are saying the same. So go ahead fool yourself. Maybe you're part of his family ties that got him here in the first place.
02-12-2016, 04:02 AM
Why can't a coach say that?

Coach York is in a no win situation. If he wins (which he is doing), it is because of the talent and Coach Cook. If he loses, it's on him. As for the talk, who cares? I sure don't. I enjoy watching the team play. It shouldn't matter who the coach is for them. If they are worried or bothered, then that's not good and that is on THEM. They should have only one focus and that's Rupp.
I'm not sure why the animosity towards Coach York. He went to the Regional title game last year, made a great run, and is doing the same again this year. Perhaps he's not the problem? Perhaps it is the 90% of the "fans" you speak of? Perhaps you all should not come back? Perhaps you all should go to Mercer County? I'll pay for your gas. nicker:

Yes he is in a no win situation because he doesn't know how to win in a close situation or make adjustments. He gets out coached in every game. I mean really how hard was it to know you had to put someone on Blair to shut him down. PCC's coach sure knew what to do. Also you don't call timeouts when you have the momentum. I believe that would be when the other team has momentum you call timeout to stop it. The subs make no sense either. Nothing he does make sense. Let's see how many hang around after this year. See how his win /loss record starts looking. As far as paying for my gas to pay to go to mercer you can't even pay to keep a good coach here so I highly doubt you can pay for anyone's gas. Just jealous LC let such a good coach go over such stupid stuff. But enjoy you little hometown boy. You are stuck with him

Let's see....where do I start. Well, a 21-4 record is a good place. Second, if you were at the JC game you'd see that there was a guy on Blair. A much taller guy. But if you had any knowledge of the game of basketball whatsoever you would have seen the offense JC was running for Blair. They were screening and double screening to get switches and top that off with the fact he was ON FIRE and could not miss.....and you get his shots. He had maybe, MAYBE, 2-3 open looks. The rest was 4-5 feet behind the line with a guy closing out on him.
Thirdly, who cares about next year? Fact is that if Cook had stayed (which was HIS option to stay) he's be gone after this year because these 4 guys graduate. At least York is in it for the long haul. And don't count him out. He just may win a few more than you would like.....
But discussing LC basketball with you is like clapping with one hand.....
