Donald Trump would say this is a Huuuuge bet. Deal!!! :lmao:

HC looked tired, did get some bad calls late, but that's expected at Corbin.
#11
For sure. It's been that way for 40 years. 20 point lead with 1 second to go isn't safe at Corbin. Lol. Go Bears. We've been playing better than we really are. But, that's what good teams do! Congrats Corbin.
#12
Corbin caught Harlan Co. at a good time as they ran out of gas in the 4th qtr. I like Harlan Co. to win the region this year though.
#13
I would say Harlan Co had some dead legs after the WYMT last week. Good win for Corbin.
#14
Congratulations Red Hounds!

Ain't no "quit" in this Black Bear team......They'll be back! Smile

Honestly, I wonder if the 13th region teams should just meet somewhere over a steak dinner, and draw straws for the regional championship!!

Very close this year. I like that!!

Coach P showing he's the best once again.
I've said it several times and will continue. This Corbin team has VERY little talent compared to others and Pietrowski gets the another win. He's damn good. That's all that needs to be said.

No it ain't!

Corbin gets a huge game out of their best player, they also make a buzzer beating half court 3 to end the first half and they make another long jumper with a few seconds left to win the game, all on their own floor? It took all that 48 hours after HC had just played 3 very intense, emotional games climaxing in their first WYMT classic championship game! I like the direction this HC team is headed and I think I would like their chances on a neutral floor at the Arena in a regional tourney game against the Redhounds......Just saying!

That is what I think too WYMT took a lot our of them. They will be fine come regional tourney time.

I was at this game Harlan County played hard and Corbin played hard. It came down who had the ball last was going to win this game. Corbin is beginning to find there rotation with about ten players.....Very Dangerous team right now. :Cheerlead

I listen to post game show, what happen to Dave and Dave doing Corbin games?
Fouls were equal, Corbin out rebounded Harlan Co., Harlan had more turnovers.
#21
One of the Daves (Cox) is now the new Superintendent of Corbin schools, can't really do radio. Dave King I have heard doing Cumberlands games, maybe he took Estes place after he became Whitley's girls coach. They were a good broadcast team.
#22
Absolutely the best.. I loved listening to them.
#23
^
As he said Dave Cox is now Super. He wont be doing anymore radio.
The other Dave is calling Whitley games with Dave Lennon now that Estes is coaching the girls team.
Cant remember who was calling Corbin football games but I know he had Burley Foley helping him.
Whitley and Corbin both have always had the best on the radio IMO.

Nobody said HC wasn't good or that they couldn't win region, but look at what Corbin has done this year with what they have. There may be some at Whitley who would never admit it, but id give Coach P whatever he wanted if Corbin ever wanted to give him up, which will never happen. This team is just maybe the least amount of talent ive ever seen him put on the floor, and while there record isn't stunning, they have won or been in games they have no business being in just like South by 2 and Clay by a few.
Ive also never bought into the whole tired thing. When I was 17 I didn't know any kid who was tired ever. We played games and could have played road games 5 nights a week and while there may be let downs, you are full of energy at that age and that was never a problem.

From a guy that has no love for the corbin school system or there basketball program, ill be the first to admit Coach P is the best around. Id love to see what he could do with some of these other teams.
#25
Cards and Tiggers better not overlook Hounds come region time. Could be sent home early.
#26
What is Corbin's schedule and record away from home? I know Clay beat the brakes off of them at Clay, and then struggle at Corbin. Harlan County is by far the more talented team, and lost by two at Corbin. South Laurel, like Harlan County, is way more talented and struggled to win by two at Corbin. Unless the regional tournament is held at Corbin with 13th region officials(which it's not), I don't see them making any noise.
#27
Also, where is the 50th district tournament this year?
#28
According to KHSAA site, 50th is at Whitley. Just FYI, 49th is at Jackson Co., 51st at Lynn Camp and 52nd at Harlan Co. I really like Jerry Overbay and his team at Whitley Co., but if its Corbin-Whitley in the 2 vs. 3 seed game, even at Whitley, does anyone really think Corbin won't find a way to pull it out and get to the region? No way I would bet against them.
#29
What two are you referring to truth99?
#30
The Corbin-South game was at South.
