Wayne County and Pulaski
#1
Pulaski looked lost all night. Wayne didn't look particularly well, but granted they were without Stearns. I know Pulaski doesn't have their big kid, but even with him, Wayne is much better.

Trust me, that is not the PC team you will see in January. Out of the starting five you seen against Wayne, only two of them will see the floor come January. Sylvester will start, along with the brothers from Chicago that are enrolled now. You heard it here first, PC will win the region. Voight is one of the best coaches in the region, they have two solid guards in Hall and Powell, and getting ready to have three 6'5 kids that are as athletic as is gets. I see the region coming down to Mercer and PC, Voight being the better coach, PC wins.

Well, I agree with one thing you said and that is that we heard it here first. Not sure we will hear that anywhere else either!

I did a little research on these kids. First, they were enrolled in a school in NEW MEXICO (not Chicago) as recently as 11/17/15. And that last school was their 5th New Mexico school (I should mention they only discussed the better one of the brothers and I'm just assuming the other one was along for the ride). Will they be at Pulaski more than a month? Oh, and they were listed as 6'2" & 6'4."

I will say that the better of the brothers sounds like a really nice player. BUT until they beat Wayne, Southwest or Mercer, they don't belong in the conversation. We'll see.

They were here 2 years ago and played with Pulaski over the summer. They were probably 6'2 and 6'4 then so I'd guess they were a little taller now. If they are here for good Pulaski will be in the conversation. I'm not big on Pulaski basketball but their coach is giving Coach Wright a run for his money for the honors of being the top recruiter in the 12th region.

Op just looking to start stuff.. Prolly a sw fan.. 90% of what is said is not even true smh at all the people just trying to stir stuff up.

Looks like Pulaski got beat bad again tonight. Even with the new boys and Treyvon, will it make that big of difference?

What did I say that isn't true?

Not a fan of the boys program( Football is my sport). IMHO Pulaski coach is no different than Wright at Southwestern. By the current KHSAA rules both are cheaters. Not what we need to be teaching our kids.

How is it cheating if a kid and his family want a better life and find a place and program they want to be a part of and do what is necessary to become a part of it. Just be thankful we have such outstanding men in this community that are coaches that people from the outside want their kids to play for. I don't know PC's coach that well on personal level, but take it from me Coach Wright is as honest as they come. To say he is a cheater is absurd.

Sarcasm?

What part do you think is sarcasm? This is my thoughts.

Most people do not like when people bring others in from the outside after they are hired to coach the kids from the school so I just assumed you were being sarcastic. "Travelers" rarely make for good team chemistry. Good coaches with average talent can usually prevail over bad coaches that try to win by way of finding players. If you can't make a player better, your not a very good coach. Just my thoughts.
#13
Maybe Stoops needs to hire Voight and Wright to his staff. Seems like they are recruiting better than other coaches on his staff. If you read the papers, football players is all Voight wants to talk about anyway. Should be a perfect fit.
#14
I don't think Wright has brought in any players since his initial season. Some might say Gover but I don't think Wright went after him, he just landed at SW after his dad left PC. But with the current state of the KHSAA ,you better go get what you need ,if your gonna compete for a regional championship, because everyone else is.
#15
Wright recruited Gover as soon as his dad was fired. Everyone knows that. I don't blame the Govers for leaving though. He's a good ball player and if he's happy there, then good for him. Wright brought a kid in last year from Nigeria and he couldn't get eligible. But I do agree with you; Voight is worse than Wright. In my opinion, best coach in the county is Cothron. He coaches hard and sets a good example for his players.

Kapinga? Did he not bring him in?
#17
Kampinga and collier Then gover and David from Nigeria. David never got eligible. In wrights defense. That's no more than most are bringing in.
#18
I am not a fan of the bringing kids in cause u can't coach and win with what u got but it usually don't cause much trouble if it's just one here and there. The 3 voight brought in this year I could see a bunch of issues coming his way.

Give Voight a little credit, he only brought in 2 this year, 1 was there last year. I don't think Wright has to recruit, with his resume players seek him out and want to play for him.

powell was not there last year and joe and jarell saterfield was not there last year. which one are you talking about being there last year.
#21
He technically brought in four this year, if you count the other Powell. The one he brought in last year was Treyvon. Voight has brought in 5 players in two years and still won't win the region. Smh
#22
How I forget Treyvon. lol
#23
For some reason he hasn't played this year. Maybe his grades aren't good enough? I'm not sure.
#24
He had surgery on his hand that he hurt last year.

ky playmaker Wrote:powell was not there last year and joe and jarell saterfield was not there last year. which one are you talking about being there last year.

you're right I forgot about Powell. I was talking Trevon being there last year. And I honestly don't think Voight recruited the Powells, the Powells recruited him.
#26
KarnivalKat Wrote:Kapinga? Did he not bring him in?

Kapinga and collier were both in his initial season.

I heard the big kid last year that didn't get eligible was a Gover recruit.
#27
You can say what you want. They both recruit. Honestly, I don't believe Voight can coach and develop talent. That's why he has had a new job every two years. Wright can flat out coach. Like him or hate him, he can coach. At least when he did recruit (initial season) he won a region title and went to the final four.
#28
Wright had more players from Clay County than he did from Laurel County when he was at South. Wright has had players every year he has recruited at SW. The current coach here is no different. Recruits. Like I said, by current KHSAA rules both are cheaters.

I agree. He has recruited. I just think Voight has done more so. How many did Wright bring in this year? None I don't think. Voight has 5 in two years..

With Powell on your coaching staff, is nothing more than a disaster! ! He was recruited, he just begged and pleaded for mercy of his kids! His sons has played for two good coaches , and he didn't get his little way so he grabbed his little cry towel and cried his way in another program to destroy! ! Feel sorry for Voight because he will be on fith floor at hospital putting up with good ole james!! He will drive him crazy!!!
