Perry County Central @ Harlan County
#1
Well, I started the "dreaded thread".

As most of you know, this will be Tom Larkey and DC Ovie Canady's first game at Harlan County since Coach Larkey was dismissed as head coach of the Harlan County Bears. So, let's just get the white elephant out of the way.

IMO, Coach Larkey was dismissed in the most cowardly and disgusting way possible. He absolutely did not deserve what he received from the administration. I also admire Canady's loyalty and his decision to stay with Coach Larkey. I love and respect these two coaches, along with 99% of Harlan County fans and coaching staff.

That being said, Harlan County is coming off a huge victory against Whitley County. This win was a signature win, IMO, with a new QB debuting in that game and making our team Sophomore dominated.

Hopefully, our defense can learn from that game and be stronger and smarter in the PCC game.

I like where Coach Creech has these kids, and I believe they will win this game by a couple of scores. To me it is remarkable than the Bears produced 50 points from a brand new QB in his first start!! (great job Branson)

Go Black Bears!!!!

Branson played an excellent game against WC for his first start at QB, he could have a big night teaming up with receivers and you can always count on Cornett having a big night. I think HC will put up alot of points, just not sure how many they will give up. It's a Larkey team and he can sustain some long drives to keep HC offense off the field, so HC defense will need some stops on 3rd down.

If Perry was to win this game would they have a tie for a 4 seed?

Bears Win, Bears win!
#7
Bears by 30. It is coming together for HC

They would tie the loser of the Whitley-Letcher game but would be 5th still due to head to head

Head to head only matters if they tie in points in the point system.

Head to head is always the first tie-breaker.
I can't even find the rule for two teams because it's so obvious.
Here's one for three or more teams:

i) If one of the teams has defeated each of the other teams tied in games contested between them, that team shall be declared to hold the highest position, and the winner of the game between the remaining teams (if less than four) shall be declared the second highest position. In the event of more than three teams being tied, where one has defeated each of the tied teams, that team shall be declared the highest position, and the tie-breaking procedure shall be re-applied for the remaining tied teams.

That Combs RB from PCC is good, stop him which North Laurel did and you got this one!~ Saw Coach Larkey, at a distance coaching his team at PCC, he looked like he had settled in well there. My thoughts about things of this nature, everything works out in the long run for a good reason. Good luck, Bears, you can do this! Got you by 2 TD's!!

Coach Larkey is a good man and coach. It was impossible to fix Perry Central this year. Given time Larkey will right the ship.
#17
Don't have a dog in this fight, but I do hope that the Harlan Co faithful give Coach Larkey a great reception at the game. He won a lot of games over there and put Harlan Co Football on the map!! Here's to an injury free game to both teams!! Congrats to Harlan for their victory over Whitley!! God Bless & Go JAGS

Afraid I agree with Demarcus, Flyer. Our middle school team is playing tomorrow to see if they go to state competition. Our pee wee football is stronger than any other year. We may have one more year of rebuilding, and then I firmly believe that we will compete with the heavy hitters.

Larkey will most definitely improve his team....no question about it. BUT, he was looking to retire after his 300th win. If he hasn't changed his mind, he will be lounging in retirement before he can catch us.

Good luck to both teams, and hopefully an injury free game.
