Paintsville 62 Alcoa, TN 55
#1
Landon Slone had 21 points.
JD VanHoose had 14
Shane Grimm had 13 points, 10 rebounds.
Alcoa is a very scrappy bunch of kids. They played a good game. Congrats Tigers on a hard earned win.

Nice team win and congrats to tigers, what about Grimm with a Double Double tonight in the Paintsville hoops classic...Slone done his part also with another big game offensively with 21pts, he has to be getting close to that 2000 career point mark.

Great win Tigers...

congrats paintsville on the win

Congrats Pville....a rather sloppy game IMO, but they played good enough for the win. Rumor had it that Alcoa had a few boys sign to play Div. 1 football.....anyone know if this is true and what school they selected?? Congrats to the Tigers and good luck tomorrow.

I thought Paintsville came out very strong the first few minutes, then it got sloppy from there on. They shot way too many 3's, noone was cuttin to the basket, no ball screens. Gotta few things they need to work on as this tourney goes on.

Alcoa ate Paintsville up on the backdoors and having people cut to the basket. When Paintsville stopped playing just around the perimeter, and started cutting to the hoop they looked a lot better and eventually allowed them to win the game.

They need to get Van more into the mix. They are wasting a great talent by not running some of the offense through him!

Congrats Paintsville

The Tigers really put it together in the 4th period and got a win.Seneca looked very powerful in their blow out win in the game before the tigers took the court.Landon looked great and he played a solid game on both ends of the court.Congrats Tigers!!!!

They really do need to base a couple plays around him, he is a play maker, he just dont get many opportunities...
