Great job eagles! They will be a force to be reckoned with in 4A

Congrats JC!!! You may wish those Blue Birds was still around. They took a beating again tonight, but to a very good Scott County team. JC looking tough so far this year. Could have been the year to take down the Blue Birds.

Saw this one coming a mile away! Congrats JC!

Didn't seeing it coming. I had underestimated Johnson County.

I figured JC would take this one. With that said I don't think JC fans should be talking trash about Highlands. You've had plenty of opportunities to beat those guys. Johnson County isn't exactly Scott County. But still, great win for JC!!

WTG Eagles , Hope you capture your 1st state title this year

Predicted this one. Lex catholic is lacking the horses this year. Statement game for Matney and crew

Great job JC you left it on the field

Not sure I would call #1 Blackcat a JC fan.

64 I thought you were going to catch a jet to Bowling Green. Did you piss the pilot off?

You took that out of context. I wasn't trash talking Highlands. When a team has that one other team they just cant seem to beat, and finally that other team is looking beatable, but no longer in your class. It just sucks not to have that chance to get that monkey off your shoulder.
No offense intended.

I have to give them credit though.
That is a very good JC defense they hung 28 points on. I am not sure Belfry would put 28 on the Eagles.
I also don't think Belfry would give us 42 though.

A good night for Johnson County on the football field, period.

Well I got this one wrong. Congrats to Johnson Central.

Congrats JC. I think they have gained respect in a lot of people's books tonight.

I was wondering why so many on here were choosing Lex Cath.
I picked JC by two scores and it looks like they never struggled.
Boyle County is the best team in 3A and Belfry is just a little behind, with Lex Cath being in the 3 to 5 range. My point being I don't know if anyone in 3A or 4A could beat JC.
I will continue to pick them this year no matter who they play.
JC will be your 4A state champs.

My man, I hope you're right.
If LexCath gets it together and tightens up their mistakes, they won't be an easy out for anyone in 3A. Central still has to deal with Ashland at Ashland first and foremost. If Central can't beat Ashland, then Central probably isn't going to win 4A, so the discussion is moot, and believe me, nobody here is taking the Ashland game lightly. If Central does handle Ashland, you get a District 7 4th place at home. Then probably Scott at home, then probably Ashland again at home (if they could take Bourbon at Bourbon; otherwise, it's Bourbon at Bourbon). Reverse that if Scott beats Bourbon in the district; I'm guessing at this point Mason, Holmes, and Harrison are going to be relative non-factors in the playoff race. Then the semis, I'm guessing either Knox Central, Rockcastle County, Wayne County, or Taylor County on the road. At that point, if you make it to the big show, all bets are off and last one out of Johnson County turn the lights off on the Bowling Green. That's what the road looks like, best I can guess it. There aren't many gimmes, but I don't see any we can't win either. First time in...forever.

Saw some of this one.....Lex Cath definitely has some quickness....but seems to be lacking in physicality. Their offense is more diverse...the multiple sets create some opportunities......but....right now....IMO...they don't have enough to get to Bowling Green. Things could change.....but it would be drastic IMO

Mark this prediction down....
JC over Ashland by 4 scores.
JC over Belfry by 3 scores.
JC over Knox by 5 scores.
Running clock on Rock, Wayne, and Taylor County if they play any of them.
Pulaski is the only "mountain" team that could beat JC and I think that would be a good, close, ball game. JC beats everyone else in the east with only 2 or 3 coming within 3 scores.
Just my thoughts and it may be completely wrong, but that's what im sticking with for now.

I listened to this game on the radio. Lexington Catholic had no answer for Central's running game. I also thought Central did a great job defensively against Catholic's passing game. Central is definitely a contender for the title this year.

Not so sure about the Belfry one. I am more scared of them than Ashland, but Ashland matters more and at Putnam, weird things happen. Seen enough to know. If we beat Ashland there by 4 TDs, watch for the guy in the black dancing and screaming. As someone who knows the curse...I won't believe it til I see it. Lifelong UK fan. Watched us lose to Florida in 93, to LSU w the Bluegrass Miracle, to Florida last year on the never-expiring play clock...I have seen choking in all its forms and won't believe it is over until it is over.
