I Like Hicks in this one myself, Hicks is a better Team player and just a better player period. Stepp can drive to the whole better than Hicks but thats about it

hicks i mean hes awsome
12-22-2006, 02:15 PM
Hicks, hands down

Lets see I'd take Hicks, then Cox, Campbell, Bailey, Hurt, Brandonburg, Romans..etc..When Stepp learns to play team ball I may put him in the top ten but he's not impressed me at all, I've never seen a player shoot so many shots in my life...JMO

Hicks evidently doesn't do very well when he plays against competitive defenses. In a 104-61 loss last night to Dunbar he was 2 for 13 from the field and had 12 points. Maybe he was just off in this game, but I don't think Dunbar could hold Stepp to 2 field goals.

Hicks is a great team player and I would probably choose him hands down...HOWEVER I watched the stepp kid play against Mason County the other night and he had a great game...kids under a lot of pressure having his dad for a coach so ya know give him a break.

I think I would take Hicks....both are good players, but IMO Hicks is a better team player, leader, and shooter.

I'd take Hicks.
I probably wouldn't even choose Stepp off his own team. I'd take the Cox kid.

Id take Hicks...I like seeing other people's names in the scorers box, and its hard to get that when one guy takes every shot...but Id take Cox over Stepp at JBS too

Hicks, great player, great kid. Handles himself well on and off the court.
12-23-2006, 05:05 AM
I wouldn't complain about having either one of them.
12-23-2006, 09:29 AM
Hicks..But I would rather have Cox over either one!
12-23-2006, 09:35 AM
hicks better all around player than stepp can think about being......stepp is a big ball hog
12-23-2006, 11:28 AM
Hicks by far, he is a real team player.. Stepp is a ball hog!
12-23-2006, 02:28 PM
Stepp, by far, they are even on shooting, Stepp is by far a better ball handler, and saying that he is not a team player, is pretty stupid, the guy put up around 10 assits? i think it was, and if you were a coach you would love to have a player like him, being able to take over the game at any point, Hicks can do the same, i will agree, but I think Stepp has the edge, Hicks couldnt perform against Doss, Henry Clay or Mason County, like Stepp did

Isn't Stepp the all time leading scorer at JBS now....or at least that is what WYMT commercial about the players of the week said.
12-23-2006, 03:23 PM
Yes he is, they have really had some great ones over there at that traditional power house.

Hearing the history of the Stepp clan on the hardwood, I find it hard to believe this newest Stepp would not be more a team player.Jim Stepp was a great team player but Joe and Earvin looked to shoot first. If they would have learned to draw the defense "which they did" and pass off,, the sky would have been the limit for them. For some reason, guns dont play any defense.Does this newest Stepp play the D?
