Good basketball game as both coaches did an excellent job. Magoffin County had a big chance to win the game in regulation as Arnett had two free throws with 2.9 seconds remaining and missed them both to send it in overtime. Arnett played a heck of a game. He must have scored 30 plus points and played so hard on defense. Really impressive game for the hornets and Coach West did a great job coaching. Just had some tough luck toward the end of the game. The Hornets played very hard and very well. This team will give a lot of teams trouble throughout the year.

Congrats to Belfry on the win. Congrats to the Hornets on staying with the region favorites. The Hornets may not have beat Paintsville or Belfry, but they were in both games and had their chances. That should mean a lot to the Hornets early in the season. The Hornets weren't expected to be a region favorite but have shown that they can play with the best, so you never know how they will do in March.

I just want to say that as long as Neil West is coach at Magoffin, they arent going to win anything or beat thebig teams. I was at the Paintsville game and from what I saw he is a joke as a coach. What coach calls a timeout when their team is making a run. I heard someone say that the reason he called the timeout or timeouts, he did it twice, was because the players were getting tired. Well that just shows that the players dont have the conditioning or will to play hard all the way without a timeout. Paintsville played great defense, thats why they got the win. Magoffin couldnt guard an infant out there. Also, the magoffin players need to control their emotions if they expect to beat anyone, especially the "superstars" of paintsville. Oh by the way I am a magoffin resident, so if this comes as a shock to you, think twice. I have always been a critic of magoffin sports, mainly the boys sports. The girls are great, they just need to learn to not be selfish and play as a team, they could go far into the state tournament if so. My account got deleted or something, so im using a friends to say what needed to be said.

You really have no ideal what your talkin about. Coach West has turned this team from a automatic win on a teams schedule to a team that you haft to play your ass off to beat. You think Pups a bad coach? nHis ass does the same thing. Why don't you call him out? Better yet, write a letter to West and put your name on it and tell him what you would do. But until you coach high school basketball, let the coach , coach.

First of all, I never said Pup was a bad coach. In fact, I think he could have done a better job coachin the boys team than Nehi has or ever will. As far as u sayin I dont know what im talkin about, well thats your opinion and you are entitled to it, same as anyone else. I have watched enough and played enough basketball to know what I am talkin about. No coach calls a timeout when their team is makin a run at a comeback, if they do, they are stupid. That takes away the momentum the team is gainin. Any coach that has ever coached boys sports at Magoffin besides Danny Adams has been a joke. Nehi should have stuck with the girls, they could have done the same thing with him as they have with Pup. The girls team has more talent than the boys. Eric, Devin, and Clay are the best players on the team, everybody else is mediocre at best. But even those players have their faults, like controllin their emotions.
