Great read. It shows first of all how much coaches truly care about their players. Look at how many years after he left school that old Jack Morris still thought about his one time player. It shows secondly what a great raising the parents and community put together for this fella. It shows also that in every small town there is just that one great that comes through every so often. It truly makes me proud of where I come from. If they would induct him after that info, then they would induct anyone. Thanks for the info.

I guess I should proof read more. I meant, if they wouldn't induct him after that then they wouldn't induct anyone.

Check out the Mayfield football uniforms from back then. Love the 2 stripes on the pants and jerseys. Wish they'd go back to that.

Wish Ford would have gone to UK, but, hard to ignore a Vandy education and the fact they allowed him to play baseball, too. I'm sure Joe B frowned on that.

Joe Ford was an all around grat athlete, he burned Kentucky in several late game situations he was clutch when a game was on the line. I was honered to be on Mayfield High Schools baseball team with him in 1969 when he was just a freshman, left handed batter 6 foot 3 with the sweetest swing you would ever see. he hit towering home runs to the deep parts of the baseball field in Mayfield just lost one game that year. david fowler was on that team also.
