Perry Central @ Breathitt Co. 8/28

Thoughts and predictions

Breathitt has improved, but how much have they improved, is the question. On the other hand, can PCC get enough talent out of the hallways to be competitive in a tough 5A. I think this game will be a toss up, with the advantage going to the Bobcats, only because it's being played at home. Breathitt will be starting a freshman quarterback in Stacy, so how that plays out, is anyone's guess. I think he will be the real deal in a couple of years, but it's hard for a freshman to step in and win games. This kid has a D1 arm, but we will have to wait and see how he develops in other areas. Collins will be the primary Running back, so this should take some pressure off of Stacy, plus he has some good young skill guys to throw the ball around to. I think with the state not being in control of the school system, the football program is going to get better with each passing year, and improvements will be seen this year. With that being said, I like the Bobcats by a score of 21 -20. Good luck to both teams.

I think Coach Larkey wins first game as coach at PCC. That is if Tobler is the running back. :worthy:

Breathitt County 14

Tobler is sticking to his Hoop Dreams. Seth Napier and Jordan Combs in the backfield for Perry.

Perry has to play Lynn Camp first so they'll have some game experience coming into this one. This is mostly the same Perry team that throttled Breathitt last year, minus Nathan Pray. I don't see a lot changing on the scoreboard this year though.

Nathan Pray had almost 400 yards in the game last year. Who is their quarterback this year?

I'm not sure honestly. But assuming Coach Larkey will be playing a similar style that his Rockcastle/Harlan teams played, i'm not sure if it matters who is at quarterback as long as they can hand the ball off. Breathitt last year was the most down I have ever seen him, and Moore is a great coach but he has his work cut out for him in the next few seasons.

Perrys QB is Ethan Caldwell. Very small but has an excellent arm. Decent speed.
Perry lost a lot more than Nathan Pray from last years team. Josh Gary, Brandon Campbell, Damon Tobler, Tyler Lawson, Cory Smith, and several others. My heart wants PCC to win but I don't see them going to Breathitt and winning. Kyle Moore has some big ole boys this year up front and they are very strong. Gonna take Breathitt by 2 TD's. Gonna take Perry a few games to transition over from Finesse to a power/smash mouth team.

You certainly make some great points.have to agree with that.

That's a shame he could have played college football somewhere. Not a lot of need for 6'1" power forwards in college basketball.

Tobler means if he playes a few more wins for the commadores if not 3-7 4-8 at best but give Larkey time he will turn it around but its going to take a few years. This will be a very close game this year Perry42 Breathitt 40

After seeing PCC in Scrimmage against Rock and McCreary I look for them to give Breathitt all they want and more.
#15
After seeing Breathitt against the Panthers I think Perry Central wins big. Just my opinion
#16
Go Cats! I sure hope they can pull off a win! But, I see a work in progress for the next few years... Perry wins by 2 td
#17
Larkey will have this team headed in the right direction. It's early but I'm going with Perry by 1 touchdown.Perry showed glimpses of good things in the scrimmages.
#18
I think Breathitt gets it done in a close one. We will see this thursday night how they look against burbon co. I look for improvement on both sides of the ball this season. Team looks more athletic and in better shape this season.

Going with PCC.

PCC by 1 td

I look for the Bobcats to show some improvements this week when they scrimmage Bourbon County. Stacy is a freshman and he saw his first "live game action" against a very solid Pikeville team. He seemed to rush a lot of throws, and misread some defensive coverage's. That is to be expected as a freshman and he is going to go through a lot of growing pains this year, but he will be one of the best Quarterbacks to go through Breathitt, when it is all said and done. That is saying a lot, with all of the great quarterbacks who have played for the Bobcat program. Stacy isn't very mobile at this point and time, but as he grows into his body, he will become more mobile. His arm strength is unreal as a freshman, and once he works on his accuracy, he will be lethal. Take my word on it, in a couple of years he will be a D1 prospect.

After watching PCC against Rock and McCreary Central. I think they can go to Breathitt and get the win. Coach Moore will have his team ready to play but so will Coach Larkey. Should be a good one.
#23
Perry wins the first one in the Larky era
#24
I heard the Bobcats looked much better in their scrimmage against Boubon. Does anyone have any info?
#25
^if it was Bourbon county they couldn't had looked that good. Bourbon co is a heck of a fball team
#26
Watched the Bobcats against Bourbon and they did look much better. Bourbon has a big line and had very little success running against the bobcats. In fact the bobcats where in their backfield all night . All of Bourbon's big plays came through the air. The Bobcats offense looked better as well. On the other hand I watched Pcc against Lynn camp last night. Final score is very misleading. Lynn Camp had no offense and no defense! Perry gave up to many big plays to LC that will get them beat against anyone else on their schedule. With that said I see this as an even game. Will take the Bobcats by 6 at home.

Dang I'm all screwed up tobler not playing. Perry already play Lynn Camp and won by 40pts. And now I'm thinking Coach Larkey gets his first lost. Game changer for me if tobler not playing. :lmao:

Breathitt will not have the answer for a ground and pound O. They are just too young and inexperienced
