Have heard from a couple of people, that there is a possibility this game may be moved. Due to the field just getting grass in place this week. No way they can play two games on grass that only has three to four week to take root in my opinion. Complete incompetence on the school board part.

I got Southwestern in this one........sorry Granny!

No apology needed!! It is well known that we are rebuilding this year, and Southwestern should be an awesome competitor!

My hopes are both teams play their best game, and they play injury free.

Go Black Bears!!!

I just hope the field will hold together, and we don't get some players hurt on the new sod. What I had heard they may check into Lindsay Wilson new field if the sod is not ready. Mind you it is only a rumor. Both Pulaski and Southwestern got sodded this week, Pulaski was first by one day..

I respectfully disagree about the rebuilding part. We have a lot of kids returning, that's what out problem was last year, we had to start and play so many young kids against good teams.

We return a lot of defense.

How many starters did we lose?
#12
We lost 9 Seniors, I believe. However, we have a ton of Freshman coming in and a whole lot of Junior and Seniors who are playing for the first time this year. So even though we may not have lost a ton of kids, a whole lot are new. They just haven't played structured team ball before. They are coming together and they are working hard, but so far they are very green. Granny's right, we are rebuilding.

Don't they like grass in that county? lol

Not really a ton of freshmen this year - about 20, I think. HCHS has a huge sophomore class and seven or eight of those guys could start one way or the other or both.
Several freshmen started last year. I'm guessing only 2 or 3 freshmen will see significant action this season on the varsity team.
The eighth-grade class looks to be strong, especially on the line.

:ChairHit: If they (school board) had not waited so long to get the sod down and smooth the fields down, most would have no problem. We all were let to believe both were getting turf, but in their infinite wisdom, they wait almost to late to change course. They wanted to finance the two fields for longer than they were warranted for. So they throw a hundred thousand dollar bandaid on them, just before the season begins.:Shaking:

Again
We are not rebuilding

We return the qb, both tailbacks, 3 wide rec, and some lineman who played but quit last yr.
Almost all defense is back

Last yr was a redo yr due to injuries and quitters, so what we have coming back are a lot of kids who started and played a lot.

No sense in trying to make stuff up like rebuilding when it's not true.

Last yr we were very young and inexperienced and the coaches this yr should benefit from the experienced players
Coach Creech even coached most of them till he quit us mid season

So no we are not rebuilding and should actually be quite loaded

No sense trying to say you're a Bear booster when you're not.
Rebuilding has never been a one-year process. Harlan County will start five or six sophomores. They are most definitely still rebuilding.

Man, what is it with you? Do you have a crystal ball that tells you who every one is? You are everywhere and seem so negative. Meaning no disrespect, but you know everything about every team and thread I have looked on and it has been a bunch.

You have to know who you're talking too. Booster enjoys calling kids names and then blame it on others. Booster was only a HC fan when boosters hero was the coach. Now that hes gone she's getting really anxious to talk about coach creech in his first year. Doesnt really know anything about football just like to start trouble. Just wait for it, it gets more comical with this one.

Ok genius tell me exactly what position we lost and who is comin back
I'm betting we have way more returning than we lost

And as for you, my hero wasn't coach Larkey, it's Jesus and those who serve to protect us

We could've returned every single player and STILL be rebuilding. Remember, last year we only won one game. Now take away the 9 skilled starting positions that we lost and think about it for a while.

I'm not putting down the Black Bears. I'm not in the loop as much this year, but from what I hear, this bunch of kids have all the heart in the world and a great work ethic. I will support them until they have played their last game.

As far as the Larkey/Creech thing is concerned I will say this. I know a great deal more now than I did last year. Everything that I have discovered makes NO difference. Larkey is gone. Creech is here and he's doing a great job.

The way Larkey was released was inexcusable but Creech had NOTHING to do with that, and I know that for a fact.

Now, we can hash out words and descriptions and verbage etc etc but all that would do is waste time. I am finished with discussing the past, and now look forward to the future.

Whatever it brings, I sure hope the Bears have a great injury free season.

I like to think I bring some truth/facts when the BS gets heavy.
How is saying Harlan County is still rebuilding a negative? They are a sophomore-dominated team playing a brutal schedule
