Give up 5, should be embarrassed.

Are you kidding me. It's one thing to win, but by 80 points. What is that teaching girls. If you have a better, dominant team, win by all means, but don't humilitate. Teach these kids to have respect for one another.

No one is forcing Piarist to play in the 59th District. Are the Shelby Valley players supposed to let them score? This isn't pee wee leagues. You get your ass beat. Deal with it.

Zero class. I always liked Shelby valleys coach although idk him personally. But this is crazy. Karma will come back and bite you for sure. These are all kids. How much PT did the starters get in the second half?

What are they teaching them at Piarist? Maybe the should teach them how to play offense and defense.

Kids that should have been taught to play a little D? Don't think so. You want to play in district but can't compete. Learn to play and stop complaining or get out.

Piarist girls will not be traumatized. No taunting took place. Both teams played the game hard until it ended. Exactly how every game should be.

That's uncalled for to say "no class". If the coach had all his subs in, what else was he supposed to do? Tell his girls to just hold the ball and dribble out the entire second half?

Now THAT would make a mockery of the game.

If you cannot compete, you shouldnt play. some people are just not meant to play sports, but I bet they're very talented in other areas which should have been discovered at an early age.

Lol I played baseball at SCHS for about six years and won a few games including a regional title. Lawrence county beat us 25-0 in the district tourney and had no remorse in doing so it's not fun at all you should try to teach your kids that it's not all about humiliating people in life even if they are your opponents. You can realize when something is out of hand. Sports are played to teach kids lessons about life. What kind of message does that send? But they're a couple people i would beat as bad as I could but I don't think phelps is on the list.

Piarist, like Rose Hill, should be removed from District play in both boys and girls basketball. It's a complete joke and a guaranteed trip to region for the teams that play them... period.

Again, if the coach emptied the bench and had all the subs in, what was he supposed to do? Tell them to not shoot, but just dribble out the entire second half? Or were the girls supposed to shoot, but miss on purpose?

Since you really think SV was trying to humiliate Piarist, tell me what they should have done differently.

^ like I said earlier, they need to be removed... period. That's not ever going to happen though, because again, it's an easy win for one team every year, right?
#17
If he subbed he really couldn't do much more. I would have held the ball to run the clock out. Once youre up 36 running clock is in affect an it really isn't very hard to run the clock out. But no one has ever said if he subbed or not so who knows.
#18
Rodney Rowe is a friend of the game and a top of the line person. He subbed almost the entire game, he completely emptied the bench. I understand that this margin sounds bad but is not a true reflection of what actually corresponded. I'm betting there were even parents of the starters that were probably upset due to the fact that it was tournament play and their child didn't get ample playing time due to the score. I'm betting Coach Rowe knew they wouldn't be happy but continued to play his "little" ones. I hate to see him cut down like this when people really do not know the facts.
#19
He subbed little ones that NEVER get the chance to play. Why shouldn't they have had their chance to actually "play" to their potential? I did see them give Piarist chances to score. This team simply should not be in the district. Sad but true.
#20
wow this is hard. one side u tell the young kids not to score. but on the other how do u keep from hurting a kid that only wants to play. this is one that never be over. we played red bird ever year and I hated it not because of points or not I just wish that ever game was a two point game because 40 never helps nobody
#21
Tough loss but its hard to tell your girls to not play half court defensive.
