What can I say, Belfry was dominated at every level of the game. I dont think Belfry had 100 yards rushing . We got smashed at the line of scrimmage all game. We are proud of our boys BUT the truth is the better team won tonight. To Russell you showed class in winning tonight and I hope you guys kick some Titan Tale. Im a Pirate 4 Life but next week Ill be a :devilflam

Go Russell Beat the best 4a team in 2a at Papa Johns next week.

Congrats to Russell,well coached team ,,Belfry had a great season...
#12
Great season Belfry you done good. Russell killed us all night we could not move the ball at all. Russell threw a slant pass to Clark that killed us with it 4 or 5 times they were the best team tonight now go beat Mercer

Belfry had a total of 39 yards rushing ,,not many defenses' can do that to belfry...hopefully Russell can shut down the mercer run offense,,oughta be a dandy ,,GOOD LUCK REDDEVILS... BRING IT HOME
#14
Congrats Russell.
#15
Mercer better come and play because I know Russell will. Russell has the best defense that I have seen in a while very fast they was on the ball before the Belfry RB's had it

First off let me say CONGRATS TO RUSSELL, you all did a wonderful job tonight.
Next.
CONGRATS TO BELFRY on one heck of a season.
I hate it when people put the Best team won, that is sometimes not true. (and no I'm not mad about tonight if that is what some of you are thinking)

To Belfry::

Belfry didn't play ball like Belfry should have played.When Devin Kohair ( HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEVIN) came off the field Phillip Hickman looked at him and said 'man, what's wrong with you, you're falling apart?" and Devin replied "no, I'm not the only one falling apart it's this whole team, they are not doing what they are suppose to." What I think this game should have been Belfry's, they could have been going to Louisville next Thursday.BUT you have to want it to get it. And it looked like all Belfry wanted was to lose...
Congrats to Belfry, you have showed us all that you all can play without David Jones and Doug Howard, we are very proud of you all, to bad that we won't be seeing them next year:Sad04:

To Russell ::

You all have showed us that you can keep up with us and I respect that.
I know that you all have had a great season and have alot of talent on your team.I wish you all the best at the pizza box next friday.I'm the Belfry fan that will be cheering for the RUSSELL RED DEVILS NEXT FRIDAY AT PAPA JOHNS!:devilflam :Thumbs:

GOOOO DEVILS!!!!!:devilflam

2 Classy Programs Tonight giving everything they had. I agree that the better team did win tonight. 1 team had to lose and it just wasn't Belfry's night to win. Great season Pirates from a Jenkins boy rooting for the BIG RED TONIGHT AND EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT!...And to Russell, Congrats and way to keep on being classy as expected. Hard to root against any one of these teams and it is because of You Russell and Belfry that boys are working there asses off every year in the offseason to try to get to the program and class that you 2 programs set year in and year out! The Best of Luck to you Russell men/coaches and your proud fans at the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in the Ville'! PLAYBOY5...

If your refering to the "BIG GAME" as being semi finals then yes, Belfry can and has won it before, twice actually

I said all year I thought Belfry would get to the semi-final and lose to Russell. I know Belfry Pride thought Belfry was the better team but that was just his Belfry pride talking. I'm a Belfry fan all the way but Russell was on a different level from Belfry tonight. They are the better team. Belfry did play pretty good on defense. Especially against the run. The pass really hurt us a few times. But I can honestly say I've never seen a Belfry offense so dominated as they were tonight. I would've liked to have seen Haywood open it up before the last drive but o well. Belfry, 39 rushing yards and 114 passing yards I believe. I can't recall when the last time that Belfry had more passing yards then rushing yards. Hats off to Russell's coaching staff for heavy tape study on Belfry. I don't think tonight was as much a factor of Belfry's offensive line failing..though they did suck it up some...as much as Russell knowing what Belfry was going to do the whole game. On running plays, there were Russell defenders in the backfield before Belfry's backs got the ball. But on passing plays there was always pretty good protection. Everything else Russell covered completely. Belfry's tackling was much better tonight then in recent weeks. But it still wasn't totally up to par. The last touchdown for Russell tells the tale of Belfry's whole season. Russell's quarterback should've been sacked on that play. He was hit by not one but two Pirate defenders almost simutaniously. Thats all good but neither Belfry player attempted to wrap up or throw down the quarterback. They just assumed they would knock him down. That quarterback bounced off of both of them and threw a beautiful touchdown pass. I think Belfry's future is bright though. Belfry's quarterback really impressed me tonight. He threw a few bad passes but most were good ones. I really and truely believe that for Belfry to step up, Haywood really needs to open up the offense more. Next year Chapman will be gone. May, IMO, is overated. He's a good fullback. But not nearly good enough to be the feature back. I'm not sure whose in line to take Chapman's place next year. He was a good football player though. I just believe that for Belfry to step up then Haywood must open up the offense and incorporate much more passing next year. As for Russell...congradulations. I'll be pulling for you next week. Bring it back to Eastern Kentucky once again!

Losing Chapman will hurt Belfry, but returning May is a big plus.... Do they return the Epling kid?
