This tournament is not even worth messing with. The west played their semifinal and final games yesterday. The east got rained out and because two teams have conference tournaments this week, they are not going to play until Friday. This means that whoever comes out from the east is going to be at huge disadvantage because they will have to use pitchers either the day before or the day the final four starts. Not fair to kids who have worked all season to get there. State tourney should over ride conference tourney. Teams should either play or forfeit

I think the double elimination format for the championship is irresponsible and borders upon dangerous for these young players. Particularly the pitchers.

#1 - you definitely need to have more than 1 or 2 pitchers to compete in any tournament.
#2 - schools are bound (I know we are) to play in the conference tournament. We don't have a choice. What really isn't fair is making schools choose between one or the other.
#3 - These things aren't likely to change because of A) the end of the school year, B) field availability, and C) middle school baseball taking a back seat to almost any and everything else.

How do the teams qualify or is it just an invitational?
