I think the front runners are Breathitt, Belfry and Russell in the Eastern part of the state, not to sure of the Central and Western sections though.

Breathitt is supposed to be alot better than they were this year. They only lost 4 seniors and they started several freshmen that will be better next year IMO. Breathitt has the most trouble against teams that have a QB that can throw the ball as well as he can run it, example is Hoskins from Middlesboro this year. Do I think there is alot of difference in the top teams, no.........The playoff games will be tough and close when it comes to the top teams IMO. I like Breathitt's chances in 3A next year if they improve on defense, but if they continue to be undisciplined, they will continue to be spectators in December.

I don't think you can count SC out. They are returning most of their team including Kelly and Dials. If their quarterback can pull it together next year they should be tough.

Looks like Russell has one good quality opponent in their district in Mason Co. Belfry looks to have on as well in Sheldon Clark. Other than that I see Belfry and Russell clashing again deep in the playoffs.

Belfry vs. Russell in Region 4
Breathitt vs. Somerset in Region 3
Winners play in State Semi..
Thats my prediction.. Assuming those districts aren't swapped in the draw

Yep. They're also the only 6 I believe have a legitimate shot at the state title.

I say Belfry wins it next year and makes it Louisville this year.

CG#20 Wrote:I sat Belfry wins it next year and makes it Louisville this yearMercer wins this year and Breathitt/Belfry/Russell are contenders in the mountains next year. But all of this is based on opinions, no one really knows. As a Breathitt fan I am more concerned with Russell than Belfry based on our defense. Breathitt's defense matches up well against Belfry's offense IMO, better than Russell's.
