You know on here everyone is starting threads about teams for next season. So I guess I'll do the same on Hazard. I think Hazard will go as deep or deeper into the playoffs next season as this one. Hazard always has good teams...but I think the teams that will come out of Hazard these next years will be different. I think this years district championship started a new trend for the Dawgs. What does everyone else think??

I can see the dawgs making it as deep as this year, the dawgs have had some good teams recently, and its always up and down with the teams in district 7, you hardly ever know who is gonna be any good or not... So I say Hazard wins their new district and goes to Region

Yes, I agree with panther#42, they will win district 7.

I know besides Hazard that Cumberland, Harlan, Jenkins, and Evarts are in district 7. Does neone know who else is in there or is that it???

Isn't Willamsburg and Lynn Camp?

They should have a pretty good chance of winning their district. But it will be tough.

They will be very good next year and possibly win district

What does Hazard return. At the Somerset game I seen some real quality athletes on the team. The QB Ollinger I know is a sophmore. What about their RB? And #3, 10, and 15(I think that is their numbers.) They really stood out to me.

Hazard is graduating senior linemen like no.'s
#66 Shane Massey
#70 Chase Short
#65 Chris Melton
#57 Dan Spaulding
#72 Jared Woods
#64 Jack Whitehead
#79 Sahil Malhotra
Special teams and recievers and backs like
#15 William Warren(Reciever)
#22 John Salyers(Special Teams)
#3 Colby Hoskins(reciever)
#2 Jared Meehan(Safety/Receiver)
#40 Zach Garret(Special Teams/Back)
we had a very young team as most of our starters were sophmores, but mostly all our stgarting linemen were seniors.

In my opinion hazard will have a state championship team, for the next two or three years...they have a lot of sophomores starting....and few freshman. They are losing great senior lineman and a great senior receiver, but thats it. Next two years should show some great things from the Bulldogs...

Hm I do have respect for Hazard, but I don't see them making it to state within the next 2-3 years

They have a better chance than previously...because of the resizing of the schools...with Danville, Somerset, Mayfield, NCC, Raceland and more moving up in size out of 1A. I also think they will have an easier time in their district than in the past...so that makes it an easier road for them. No disrespect tho to pikeville, harlan, and paintsville, there are still good teams in 1A but not near as many.

This is true, we've lost Somerset in Region 4, Beechwood has moved to Region 2.... The only usuall playoff teams left in Region 4 is Pikeville,Hazard,Harlan,Paintsivlle,Lynn Camp, and Willamsburg.
Only two big name teams that come to mind in Region 3 are Lexington Christian and Raceland (Raceland stays in 1A)
Beechwood is in Region 2 and Mayfield (stays in 1A also) is in Region 1
Most all of the perenial powerhouses have moved up a class
But yes the 1A playoffs will be watered down for next year

My bad on some of those teams moving up...I do know that it will be a little easier than previoiusly...I think it will be a pikeville hazard rematch for the region next year..

That sounds like a resonable prediction, i'll agree with you on that
11-19-2006, 08:50 PM
me too , and i do think that hazard will have a state championship team , maybe not next year , but the year after that , with the really great sophomores they have right now

Yes as long as everyone stays healthy, when these boys are seniors they should be a top challenger
11-19-2006, 11:08 PM
No doubt! In two years hazard will be stacked....with the sophomores they have...
11-20-2006, 08:11 AM
That point has been ran into the ground..We are very aware of Hazard and the sophomores and so on...Only time shall tell!
11-20-2006, 05:22 PM
I don't see Hazard beating Pikeville next few years, so I don't see them in state
Pikeville is going to be really good..
Pikeville is going to be really good..

They could possibly win district.

Well if you want to look at it that way then...Hazard will still be good because they have very very talented juniors and freshman as well. Yes time will tell.

Sounds like Hazard will be like last years Paintsville team.... How many seniors should Hazard have whenever these sophmores are seniors?
11-21-2006, 12:11 AM
They will have about 7 or 8 seniors (this years sophomores) if they dont get any more between now and then....I just think they have a LOT of talent in the whole lineup...not just in the celebrated sophomores we keep hearing about.
11-21-2006, 12:19 AM
They do have a very good lineup waiting to just blow up in the next couple of years. #8 Bart Teague is a junior and he is a very very good linebacker people and so is #5 Michael Campbell who is just a sophmore. Nearly all the linemen next year will be composed of the sophmores and freshman from this year. There has to be a lot of building up to be done. But dont get too cocky or confident bulldogs, hit the weights and practice hard post and pre season so that your inexperience doesnt count on the field. I believe in all of you and believe you all can become an unstoppable force, but anything u want to achieve comes with hard work, nothing is free. As a member of the graduating senior class i wish all the best to all of you, make us proud.
11-21-2006, 12:22 AM
Thank ya punjab...nice comment...thats really true...hazard will do nothing if they dont get in the weight room and practice hard. Thats true of any team.

The part were most of the hazard lineman and some recivers are leaving will hurt hazard, i think they could go deep into the playoffs agian next year, They have one of the best QB's a team could ask for Tyler olinger, I think this kid could be better than his brother, good luck hazard on 2007

Will need to grow up along the line to be as good as they can be. Good skill returning.
