way to go Golden Lions!

Garrard showing they are for real.

Definitely the most surprising score I've seen this week, and quite a few are surprising.

Wow!

Congrats to the Golden lions. Great win

Good win and gameplan for Garrard ... Bourbon needs healthy linemen quickly. Four starters on the line out tonight, and they dont have the weapons outside to keep anyone outta the box.

Congrats to Garrard County. Looks like Perry has those boys headed in the right direction in only his first year.

Wow. Congrats Garrard County.

Garrard plays well defensively. Look like they played 5 DB's all night

Great win for the Golden Lions.

Didn't get a chance to see this one. I heard Bourbon shot there self in the foot early and couldn't get back in it. How was the officiating? That what usually falls way off on a night like this? Just curious in no way saying that was the reason for the Bourbon loss. I heard they mad a horrible call on a TD pass for Bourbon in the third that might have made a difference.

Only got to hear this one on radio, which went in and out all night(weather I suppose) Did Holman get hurt? Didn't hear his name all night except a few times on defense. Kinda question the play calling, Bourbons receivers seem to have trouble catching the ball when the weather is nice.

Two muffed snaps early, BUT Garrard stopped them cold each time and would have had great field position anyway. If you watched this game, you would agree it wasn't as close as the score. Garrard had over 300 yards total offense to about 175 for Bourbon. Garrard ran 60+ plays to Bourbon's 40.
The catch might have been good, but there was a Garrard kid all over it. Even if it was good, that makes the score 32-19 or possibly 32-20. Bourbon's offense gave no indication that it would have scored 12 more points in the 4th qtr. regardless.
Officiating was pretty good, as far as HS officiating goes - pretty clean game, good flow... Anyone saying the officials somehow shorted either team is really just sour grapes.
Let's just call it what it was... On this night, Garrard was the better team. They had a great game plan, the kids at Garrard outplayed the kids from Bourbon, and Garrard's team was better suited to the conditions. Period.

Only had 6 in the box most of the night... The D-line is impressive.

I thought tonight was the first time they had all their OL starters. I know the normal slot receivers were out.

Well if they had scored 20 in the 3rd stands to reason they could have scored 12 in the 4th doesn't it? Plus the added time they lost wouldn't have hurt them. What does a guy being all over the potential T.D. catch have to do with the call. After reading this I find it hard to take your evaluation of officiating with any validity. Gridirondaddy? Well that explains it.

I don't think Bourbon had any of their starting line in. Maybe one. Again thanks for your insight on the game gridirondaddy

Lets just say GC had no penalties the whole game.. Except a delay of game at thee d of the game.. Number of no calls for GC.. Seen several GC players complain about something and a late flag would come out... JUST SAYING...

Just meant that it was a tough call... Not clear, either way. Also, their offense never was able to sustain a drive. Bourbon's two scores came on a big pass play and a blocked punt that set them up at the one.
The fact is that Garrard dominated the action, not sure why we can't give credit where credit is due.
BTW, the term "daddy" does not refer to my parentage of any players... I am not a parent, just an area football fan.

What exactly are you saying... That a crew who is assigned by an organization under no control by any school involved is somehow cheating in Garrard's favor?
Again, not sure why there is the need to de-legitimize a good win for Garrard. They more than doubled up Bourbon in yards and time of possession, and nearly doubled them up in total plays... Why can't we just say the Garrard was the better team this time around? Maybe if they play 10 more times, Bourbon wins 7 or 9 or 10... But on Friday night, it was clear to any objective fan that Garrard was far and away the better team. Be it the conditions, injuries, or game plan, Garrard was the better team.
Why can't it be that?

I said "I thought." You said "I don't think." Doesn't seem like any of us has a very encyclopedic knowledge of the comings & goings of Bourbon County's offensive line... Doesn't necessarily discount my entire view of the game.

I think what he was saying was it was a horribly officiated game. After taking a day to talk to a couple guys (Ex Coaches) that I trust as unbiased football guys with no association to Bourbon. I have come to the conclusion that the officials were terrible. I didn't say biased just not good officials. The coaches I spoke of happen to be ten feet away from the so called incompletion on the T.D pass and said you couldn't miss that. The kid was a yard inbounds and you could see where his foot dragged and tore up the turf. They also said that several no calls were killers. Hanging on receivers on 3rd down plays. Again may have not had a outcome on the game but who knows. If you look at any football game they will usually come down to two or three plays that change the out come of a game. I don't think we have a pool of officials in this state that have enough knowledge to call a football game. That is what we have though. Good win for GC Bourbon will lace up next week and go from there.

Well I thought we were talking football, but it seems like you're just a homer looking for "atta boys."
Garrard played cover 1 all night, meaning they stacked the box. Having 6 in the box with a single safety against 4 wide is stacking the box. You wouldn't do that unless you thought your DBs could keep up with Bourbon's Wr. Bringing me back to the point that Bourbon has nothing outside to keep teams out of the box, which is why they will struggle until their line gets healthy.

Actually, it looked very similar to what coach P played at Danville. He had 4 in the box at times and some times 5 and sometimes 6. I know, I saw only 3 rushing the passer, then occasionally 4 or 5. I diidnt see a great deal of man coverage, except when Bourbon was in no back sets. It looked like his outside lb's were splitting the difference most of the night. Like he used to tell the players at danville (pressure perceived)

That is cover 1 on 1 play, put the whole game on there and you will see Tampa 2 as well.
