I was just wondering who everyone thinks is the top athlete to ever play basketball at your school or the school you graduated from. This should be interesting.

Micah is tough, but Johnny Ray played professional ball overseas and had a nice college career. Micah didn't really make his mark at the college level...

Even Bryan Howard had a nice career at Transy. He started 3 of his 4 years on pretty successful teams...

I didn't go to school here but Shelby Valley has had the best athletes in the 15th region...Even though a majority of their good players where graduating at the age of 19 or 20
#9
Allen Central:
Thomas Jenkins or Mike Slone
#10
Morgan - Ryan Williams, who is now at Cumberland

I belive the one he's refering to would be Seth and Kelsey. Which is what 2 players outta how many to play at shelby valley.

As for my list it'd look like this-
Im not real sure but it says athlete. That dosen't mean best skill or what kinda careers they had but a couple of names I'd like to throw in would be-

Terry Wright-Shelby Valley
Jermey Akers-Shelby Valley
Mitchell Riddle-Shelby Valley
I got to Valley in 99 so I really can't remember anythign before that but three names really stick out to me.
Rodney Rowe and Todd May-Virgie(And I can use them lol I did graduate from Virgie Middle school)
and Jeremy Johnson-Shelby Valley.
#14
I can guarantee that my school had the greatest player from the whole state....

Hint: He was a member of the NBA's Top 50 All Time. Hall Of Famer and former head coach.

You didn't get to Shelby Valley until 2000 bub :dontthink

As for your list. Terry Wright is the only true athlete you named. Maybe, and I mean maybe Akers was decent. Riddle, no. Rodney Rowe, how would you know? He was a decent ball player but not a great athlete. Johnson was pretty good overall though. I can give you a thumbs up for that one. And May was a beast, he was unreal to watch and impossible to guard.

I was thinking the same thing. Oden didn't make his mark on the college level or pro's but man he was the true definition of an athlete.

I played with Micah, yes he was a good, and could have been great, but he was wild on the court he really didnt know the plays and you always had to get him back on defence. The best player that ever came out of jenkins IS Jhonny Ray Willams nobody has come close sence.

Dave Cowans baby! He was a stud. I just saw Highlights from his days with the Celtics on ESPN-Classic just yeasterday. I agree with your first post where you said "I can guarantee that my school had the greatest player from the whole state." with maybe one exception, that being "King" Kelly Coleman.

Agian this thread does not say greatest player. It says greatest athlete.

There have been quite a few good athletes at Paintsville, alot of them came before my time.

I played a few though:

Chas Harmon
Tate Harmon
Shane Simpkins
