"The team that has had perhaps the greatest overhaul of coaches is the Lynn Camp Wildcats. One thing I can say about Lynn Camp’s administration is that I think they are determined to put a quality product on the field when it comes to football and if they don’t, it will not be due to a lack of coaching. Three names added to the Wildcats’ staff this season are former Union College head football coach Tommy Reid, former South Laurel Middle School coach Allen Harris and long time Corbin Redhounds’ offensive coordinator, Willard Farris. Lynn Camp head coach Phil Russell jokingly made a comment a while back that “one way to succeed was to surround yourself with quality coaches.” Russell and company have done just that and I have a feeling that as a result, this season will be a lot of fun for Lynn Camp football fans."

Willard, Reid, and Russell, along with one or two more.
If they get many more, they'll have more coaches than players.

I believe they may get a few kids from Corbin, but the biggest hurdle they will have to overcome will be the academic reputation at Lynn Camp.
Willard does a grandson, who is going to be an 8th grader at Corbin, that is going to be a very good QB. I have no idea if Coach Farris not being retained at Corbin will have any bearing on where he goes to school though.

Very happy to hear that Coach Farris is still in the game. I've known and watched him do his thing for thirty years or more now, and glad to know he's still in the fold.

I really think Lynn Camp will be a challenge now. With all that talent and those coaches they will a tough out.

You are wrong....in fact WAY wrong.
Archie Powers was the Williamsburg head coach in the mid to late 60's and produced some great players and teams.
Williard Farris was coach prior to Gary Nowlin (sp) who was replaced by Bob Rose.....
So working backwards it is like this
Herron
Black
Rose
Nowlin
Farris

Powers

You don't have to be a teacher to be a assistant coach at a school, although it is preferred.

Maybe the hiring of these coaches will create some excitement and cause more kids to come out to play.

Are you being serious, only 14 players?

I don't see Corbin kids going to Lynn Camp to play for Willard. It will be interesting to see if Lynn Camp can keep their kids from fleeing to Corbin for an educatation in the next couple of years after the two schools recent battles in the courtroom.

I know you'd know. I should have just hollered out for old jacket.
I knew Powers and Ferris were both Wburg guys in the beginning, and knew that Willard didn't do to hot when he was there, however, as you know, im not old enough to recall that far back. Never heard of Bowden though. What years was that.
