I was at memorial to catch this game. Hoskins and Beverly both probably had 20 a piece. I would like to brag on Shannon blank when Cooper went out with cramps he stepped up and played his guts out. The same goes for the rest of this Buckhorn team even though it was summer ball these group of kids sure play like it's the NCAA championship. I LOVE IT. Coach noble sure does get the most out of them. I loved watching Beverly and Hoskins and the rest of the wildcats battle back and forth. Great game, also impressed with the clay county team I saw.

Summer basketball at its finest. Beating PCC in the regular and post season is a completely different deal though.

No doubt that Perry's team will be different come October 15, but there is something about this Buckhorn group I like. I truly believe that they have a shot at knocking off Knott Central next year. Or at least they have the best chance. Regardless, it'll be another competitive year in the 14th, just maybe with a local team included this time around.

This was a pretty hard played and coached summer ball game, pretty nice crowd also...

I was hoping to see James "slappy" Morris check in and knock out a big 3 best shooter on the bench. But this was Personal for Buckhorn after Perry stole Blair from them. I loved the toughness displayed by the wildcats. Crank, Blank, and of course Hoskins answered every perry run with toughness and a tough basket Cole and Estep also played well. I agree with Chief Perry will be a different team during the season after taking whitemore from BC they will be tough but Buckhorn was also missing Boggs who is a huge help.

I bet all in Commodore land are upset. Hoskins in danger of losing his coaching job? Dont matter if its summer ball or dodge ball. Perry just dont lose to Buckhorn.

And they did this with out their 2nd leading scorer and biggest part of Buckhorns defense with Cooper out of the game in the 2nd half.

Thats got to be a BIG confidence booster for Buckhorn. I dont care if they beat PCC in checkers. A wins a win.

Boys let's go ahead and shut her down for the year lol

Even though this is only summer ball, I have a feeling this won't be the only loss the Commodores have to the Wildcats. Sometimes it doesn't matter how many national tournaments you've played in, how many coaches you've hired or how many recruits you have. Sometimes a few mountain boys with heart are all you need. Can't wait to see what John Noble's squad does this year.

I said in the predictions thread that the Horn was my darkhorse, lol. Heck they could be the big white horse running out front of all the others the way they are playing right now. Just give them the trophy right now.

Can't get very excited about summer basketball. It's an entirely different game when the actual season starts.
Buckhorn will be good this year, but I don't see them or any other team in the region coming close to giving Knott Central a challenge.
