Can the Rockets stop the rock slide from the last couple years. I'm excited to see what this team can do. This team will still be young but experienced. Lead by a really good group of sophomores and some really strong seniors. Hopefully coach Parkey can get everyone to gel together. If they do I can see them making a run at district.

Any word on who the scrimmage game is

What has happened to Rock? One of the biggest drop offs I have ever seen for a program!

With that schedule 8 wins is a must and a failure if not. They have virtually everyone back from a young team and will be a huge shock if they don't make it to the region championship.

I little bit of everything. One reason is there is a lot of athletes walking the halls who choose not to play. last couple of years the teams have had a small amount of seniors. its been that way in almost every sport for rock. Hopefully these freshman and sophomores stick with it. numbers are up with talent.

8 may be a stretch. I believe they could but we lost a very talented QB and top two receivers. that was a big part of the offence they ran last season. One thing we got to do is get the run game going. find that one person who will step up. I will say I will be disappointed if they don't win at least 5 games.

I'm not much in the loop anymore. I contacted someone and they said that it was August 15th between Rock, Monroe County and Campbellsville. The site has yet to be determined. Was going to be at Campbellsville, but, they are having field problems and it may be moved.

2 tough games vs Pulaski and Madison southern, the rest should be wins.

Wayne is really good, and Knox and Russell are no push overs.

Wayne lost a lot of good players in particular their qb. Knox lost their best players and we should have won that game anyway and Russell co lost a lot of good players and are in a down year or 2. Like I said if we don't win 8 games it's a shame, it's actually a weak schedule

I was around some of the boys recently at a camp and I saw a level of enthusiasm that I've not seen in at least 3 years. The talent level is so-so this year, the speed level is so-so, but I actually think the team has a pulse. I saw a lot of talented young guys, and a few talented older guys. I'm looking at a middling season this year if they keep up the level of intensity that was present that evening. The final team record will depend on if they can keep that level of intensity and how good the other teams work out to be that they play. Good luck to Rockcastle's boys this season.

I'd call a 5 win season a "middling" season....that is about what I see as well if they keep up the intensity. That's an improvement on the last two years.

I hope Rock goes 5-5 6-4 but honestly no one can tell because they are so young! They do have talent and most of it is in that sophomore class. I have watched those boys since they were in 3rd grade and I believe they are going to surprise people with their talent! The freshman class behind them are pretty good also! Rockcastle will continue to get better over the next few years. My prediction is Parkey and crew get things going and the program turns the corner this year. Wish all Rock players the best and I will be rooting for you guys!

I will say that they will win 3-4 games in the upcoming season.
07-22-2014, 12:50 PM
Unfortunately, four wins would be an improvement for Rockcastle County after twin 2 win seasons. It IS a step forward though.

Really?
Pulaski County and Madison Southern I would say are certain losses this year.
Knox Central, Wayne County, and Russell County Rockcastle should be a decided underdog entering.
If this was 2004 I think 8 wins is the minimum...but in 2014 I see Rock going 6-4 best case and 5-5 or 4-6 as most likely.

Wayne returns a lot and you are underestimating the schedule.it is far from weak.

Just how will rock replace all of the offense they lost?? Two best WR's plus the Qb just don't see it this year. Rock will be real young this year. Maybe 3-4 wins this year.

Anyone know how 7 on 7 has gone

Who are the coaches on the staff this season? Any new faces?
07-27-2014, 08:34 AM
Coach Childress will be moving up from the middle school team I'm told. Good kid, but young. He graduated with the 8-3 class of 2012 and has been a coach at the middle school since then. Generally the same coaching staff from what I understand.

Heck of a schedule. Rock could go 5-5, and it be a very good season IMO.
Another thread where I see a "there are plenty of kids walking the halls who choose not to play".....it's becoming a pandemic in far too many places. Sad reality.

6-7 wins IMO
When I played and followed the Rock it would be 8 wins for sure.
If there is a losing season then there should be change.

Just don't see them winning maybe 2 at the most 3 games. Guess you haven't followed them the last few year?
