The best part about having the 15th region tournament at the Expo Center are the banners that are hanging the represent the former and current teams in the 15th region.

The banners are the schools colors and have their mascots.

I've lived in Johnson County my whole life and never knew that Jennys Creek competed in HS basketball. I knew there were several schools in the county back in the day, but never knew about Jennys Creek.

From what I was told by Kevin Garris and they also mentioned it Saturday at the draw there is 3 teams that will be added to the banners next year 2 from Lawrence Co and I believe 1 from Floyd Co. If I am not mistaken.

I did not realize the Van Lear mascot was Bank Mules until tonight at the games.
I also love the banners shows a lot of school history and a proud tradition and from what I have heard and seen we are the only region to hang banners like this at our regional tournament.
