very impressed hurley!....many people seem to discount this man when talkin about the all-time greats, but oscar robertson is the only NBA player to have averaged a triple double a year....
lets not forget these stats for a single year
30.8 ppg, 12.5 rpg, and 11. 4 assists a game in 1961-62

I like Oscar Robertson, he may not be the best ever, but he was atleast the best at what he did at the time. He changed the way the game was played in a size sense, guards were no longer always the smaller guys. He also played with Chamberlain, West, and Russel and still won MVP titles. Another great accomplished made was the consolidation of the NBA and ABA, he didn't do this alone, but was president of the players union.

Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem were in their hay-day back when the NBA was undersized... Michael Jordan won SIX championship without a great big man, who else has done this?
02-20-2005, 08:37 PM
he also didnt have great competition in the 90's if kobe and shaq would of been when jordan had the bulls, lakers would of dominated
02-22-2005, 12:42 PM
umm....MJ of course. But, noone has named pete mavarich? This man was the best they're ever was.
02-22-2005, 01:49 PM
but everyone needs to remember, kareem was responsible for the lane being made bigger, dunking was not allowed because of him. Can anyone name another player that the court was changed and rules changed becuase of them? not even MJ, (either one) did that...
but if the topic was best NBA player in a dress... i go for rodman LOL

No wait i dont think your right about that!...Darrel Dawkins and Julies Erving were responsible for the no dunking thing. Darrel Dawkins keep breaking backboards and rims so they invented the breakaway...
02-22-2005, 02:22 PM
on a documentary i seen on i think it was HBO, they said it was kareem that changed the no dunking... they also had a good one on bill russel around a month ago... he never would sign autographs. not even for a team mate who wanted a signed team pic

it really doesnt matter who changed what rules in the nba, the bottom lines is who is the best nba player ever...and i think that distinction clearly belongs to michael jeffrey jordon a tarheel i might add
02-22-2005, 09:06 PM
The new age players couldnt hold a stick to the old-school players
02-22-2005, 09:08 PM
i dont know about that but maybe..just wouldnt go that far ya know...

Most of these old players did all these point scoring phenomenons without a 3 pt. line, granted the league wasn't as athletic then as it is now, however it was pretty much evened out as it is now. So it's really kind of hard to make a true comparison
02-22-2005, 11:51 PM
sorry CTD...but i am right as usual..j/k....its michael jeffrey jordan, have no idea where u got earvin from..lol
03-07-2005, 03:08 PM
