Drop, replace or add one letter game !!!

Quick game to keep my scattered mind occupied:

Ill start with a 4 letter word, the next person down replaces or changes one letter, and makes the word different. You can add, remove or replace 1 letter to make a different word, ex.. bus....>bust....lust.. Try your best not to create a word thats been created.

Example:

land---> hand ----> hung....> lung...>gun......>gut...>....>mut...>mute...>muted...>tumes
