pikeville's matt brahnam's halfcourt shoot w/ 4 minutes left on the clock somewhere in the years between 1997-2001

If there was 4 minutes on the clock I really wouldn't call it a buzzer beater. Mine had to be back in 1996 and Paintsville on their way to the state title. In the first game, JR VanHoose had a put back with about .8 seconds left to give the tigers the win over Owensboro. Then the next night, JR flung the ball the full length of the court to an open Todd Tackett who snow balled the Allen Co.-Scottsville team to take them on to the semi's. Then after that it was two easy games against Lex Cath and Ashland to give them their first title.

Why did he shoot one from half court with 4 minutes left in the game?

PHSCARD.....two big time wins I agree. In the first one againts Owensboro someone shot the ball short and JR got the rebound and scored on a put back with less than a second remaining after the basket was counted. In the second game I believe it was Warren Cunningham that shot a three to tie the game with about 10 seconds left to play, maybe 8, and it appeared as if Allen County-Scotsville expected a time-out and they started giving a couple of early high-fives, but VanHoose spotted Tackett on a run out and hit him in full stride for a game winning lay-up to put Paintsville into the semi-finals.
Now those were buzzer beaters that counted for more than a just a game win. Don't forget Paintsville comeback against South Floyd in the All-A and Adam Rice hitting a following down toss shot in the lane for the win. That one put Painstville in the Sweet-Sixteen of the All A.

Pike Central against Magoffin at Magoffin around 2000 the center Chris comething another caught a rebound off of a missed free throw the Hawks were down by 2 with tenths left of the clock he turned and nailed a buzzer beater from the full length of the court to win the game...Brad Lowes half court shot against P-Burg in the regional semis the year that ER beat Central in the finals...ERs road to the state tourny every game was basicly off of a buzzer beater..

Back in 1990, 15th region semi-finals at Johnson Central. Pikeville Panthers, #1 in the region and ranked overall in the whole state, against the McDowell Daredevils.
After being down 29-10 after the 1st quarter, McDowell staged one of the greatest comebacks in all time 15th region history, especially in the last 45 seconds, down 79-72.
But to jump to the end, down 82-80 with 2 seconds to go, Stacey Hall at the line for two, makes the first, but misses the second. After it bounced off 2 Daredevil hands, it went straight back to Stacey who, still at the free-throw line, and in one motion, jumped, pushed the ball with one hand high off the glass, and it went straight down to beat the Panthers, 83-82, setting off a HUGE celebration!!! The Panthers and their faithful were shocked beyond all comprehension.
They call this the McDowell Miracle!!
In that game, out of their 83 points, Keith Shelton and the brothers, Marc and Stacey, finished with 25, 23 and 23 points, respectively. 71 out of 83 points.
THAT WAS A GREAT NIGHT!!!!

Yeah I agree with that. It might of been near 50 years ago, but Freddie Maggard for Carr Creek made the game winner againist King Kelly Coleman and Wayland.

This game isn't well known but it sticks out in my mind becasue I was apart of it, Millard vs. Sheldon Clark in 2000 Sheldon Clark was up by one and Millard got the ball Millard came down shot a jumper and had three guys crash the boards with three tips finally Nathaniel Kilgore grabbed the rebound shot a shot falling back it went in giving Millard the win.

Earlier this year, when Ashland played Russell, Jonathan Vanhoose hit a fadeaway three pointer with 5 seconds left to give Russell a 39-38 lead over Ashland. The Tomcats called got the ball to mid-court and called a timeout with a only couple seconds remaining. The ball was inbounded to Robbie Wilcox, who threw up a mid-range shot and missed, but Drew McDavid tipped the ball in from under the basket as time ran out to win the game 40-39.

That wasn't the All "A" when Adam hit the game winning shot. That was in the Semi-Finals of the Region when South Floyd had us down by as many as 26 points in the 3rd quarter and we came back and beat them. We got beat by Shelby Valley the next night in the Region Finals.

Sweet 16, 2003 (I think) Chris Lofton's senior year. He nails a 40-footer at the end of regulation to send it into OT. They ended up losing but was still an incredible shot

In 2003 I do believe so, Donnie Caudill from Lee Co. threw up a full-lenth shot with 2 seconds left to play & being 2 down to big rival Owsley Co. to win the game by 1 point.

1982 state championship game...Laurel County...Junior Paul Andrews hit a freethrow with 3 seconds on the clock to beat Virgie in the semi 61-60, and later that night in the championship game against North Hardin he hit a half court buzzer beater from the right side of the floor for the 52-50 win. His heroics were enough to send him to UK, and enough to secure him the number one spot on this thread!!!
